That transition with the bar dropping into the intro with that music was crispy

7 years old now, and still the best beginner snatch tutorial I've come across.

I’m watching it in 2025, and I did my first full snatch, I’m so happy and grateful for your advices. Thank you ❤🎉

I had been failing snatches for weeks- I sped through your video & snatched 30kgs 5 minutes later. Thankyou.

This is hilarious. This is like watching myself teach my athletes how to snatch. So many cues were the same. Hip crest for grip width, legs doing all the work in the first pull, back angle not changing, the sweep-in drill to get the lats going. Great stuff man! I will pass this video onto my beginner athletes for when they need cue and drill reminders.

Wow! Seriously this one of the best tutorials for a beginner. Great warm-up routine and explanation for each movement.

Your trainee moves exceptionally well for a beginner, Idk how long he's been weightlifting but he has good motor patterns and flexibility.

I've been weightlifting for a while and you cleared some points I am having trouble with, mainly the first-pull (set-up position) and to utilize those legs more.

Keep up the good work.

I just ran through this, today, by the letter. It worked like a dream. I had to re-run through some of the stuff: just to make certain of technical aspects, and 'feel'. But by the end I slotted two decent snatches to the hip pocket --> snatch.

I wanted to say thank you so very, very much Zack. I hope that you are having the best day when/if you read this. If not, I hope that your day/week makes a significant improvement.

This was very helpful. I'm studying to be a sport physiologist and one of our exams includes instructing our classmates in a motor skill of our choosing. Naturally, as a weightlifter, I picked the snatch and this video couldn't have been more fitting to help me understand how to teach the snatch; and not just perform it myself.

Powerlifting has changed my life tbh and i am forever in debt to it. I lost my ballsack in a car accident and had to hop on hormon replacement therapy and also juice. I was in so much anxious and depression knowing i will never be a father to kids, a lover to a woman, and a grandfather of a family. But i got introduced into Powerlifting and as the years went on i found that it brings purpose to my lofe and has introduced me to a big loving family of gym goers, martial arts experts and general badasses that i am proud to call brothers and sisters. I also help a lot of new gym people and school program where a lot of the kids who don't have fathers basically have assigned me the responsibility of being their father figure. I always start with a snatch and make them feel unique. Iron and technique is the truth for every man and woman out there. Amazing work my man keep up the awesome vids i use them to explain the techniques 😂❤❤❤

Someone else said it already. But its still true even now, in September 2022. Best snatch tutorial, period. So incredibly helpful. Totally got me to the next level. Especially that horrible drill of getting the bar overhead while down in the squat. Thank you!

I'm really glad I stumbled upon your channel, and more specifically this video. My wife and I have been struggling to learn the snatch for about 2 months now and avoided it every chance we got. With the instructions you laid out in the video, I'm happy to say we can finally do minimal snatches, me the bar and the wife a PVC pipe, but minimal snatches is better than no snatches. Thank you and keep up the great work!

I just started incorporating olys back into my training after about ten years away from it. This was an incredibly helpful refresher for me. Next snatch day I'll be running these drills with the video at the beginning of my session.

I just worked through this for the first time. Wow! I've snatched a lot at crossfit classes but I've never felt movement like that. The presses were super tough. This is going to be a regular warmup. Awesome content!
