Fighter had a stronghold, cleric got a cult, thieves get their own guilds, 1e really wanted players to have disposable minions.

I love that it started with friendship and ended with first edition calling fifth edition a basic b***h

This was surprisingly wholesome for a rap battle, even if it turned into an class crisis lmao

To be fair, "Human Fighter" may be considered so painfully vanilla you could start a mid 19th century French monopoly with it, but according to most polls I've seen apparently it's still by far the most popular race/class combo. This is apparently mostly among new and more casual players, but still.

I'm starting to see a pattern.
The 1st edition subclasses got stronger and turned into their own classes, while the original classes from 1st edition got nerfed.
That's pretty bittersweet.

I imagine when it will be time for barbarians they won't talk, instead they will slap each other constantly

hey, sometimes all you want is a class that hits things well, and not have to worry about anything else. Barbarian doesn't count because you have to manage rages.

"People usually get two levels in us and then focus on another class."
My 11th level Terry the Firbolg Fighter says otherwise.

It's funny. The first fighter I played (Cavalier) in a homebrew DID end up getting a castle for his party.

Also armor, supplies, three warhorses (one of them speaking Abyssal for some reason), and a schematic for flaming bagpipes.

Like, I played him super serious but the cursed horse and bagpipes were crazy.

Rune Knight, Echo Knight and Battle Master are pretty damn good, nobody else can duplicate themselves and swap places like an Echo can indefinitely, it's like a free 15'-30' teleport

Its like a dad (1st) meeting his son (5th)

5e fighter: We can attack like 100 times now!
BBEG as a fine paste: bloop!
(Picture a bubble popping on top of said paste)

All classes lost their domain creation features after 3e. Also, fighters in AD&D could hit more times than others with weapon mastery.

I'm so proud of you for depicting Fighters with depth! Pointing out the differences between them, Barbarians, and Paladins is something people never seem to do! Fighters aren't driven by Rage or Oaths to kill or vanquish; they are just good at what they do. They can be teachers, athletes, artists, and so much more!

oh come on. In the D&D Beyond Database, Human Fighter is still the most made character, and Battle Master is still one of the most popular melee builds by a wide margin. Fighters still get a lot of love. They just don't get memes like other classes do or love online like other classes do. Why? Because most people don't praise the basic diner burger, but everyone with access to a Diner tends to order the burger. It's simple, it's reliable, and it's difficult to fail at.

Then the 3.5 fighter steps in and flexes with his 10k feats. I got a castle, followers, and wield two greatswords at the same time with a 17-20 crit range.

People need to play the newer fighter subclasses more, Rune Knight feels awesome to play even at 3rd level, and while I haven’t had a chance to play it myself, Psy Warrior looks amazing. Also, if you ever play a high level campaign I would recommend taking a look at the Samurai, that 18th level feature strength before death is so cool and to my knowledge there’s nothing else like it in 5th edition.

5th edition should have talked about the subclass more. They truly give more versatility in abilities which is great

I'm mad that fighterz get so much hate 😒my first character was a fighter intentionally not bc it was easy but for me the simple fact that he was a blank canvas that realy allowed me to build him any way I want actually made him very versatile an seeing as DnD is a opened ended game with endless possibilities I felt that the fighter was the perfect representation for the game it self, if ur a creative player there is alot more you can do with a fighter the alot of ppl think.
