Driving Country Lanes. When driving narrow country lanes in the UK, what hazards can you expect, and what should you look out for? Country lanes in the UK have passing places along their route. Out of courtesy, drives should be aware of each passing place they encounter, and be prepared to reverse or give way if they meet oncoming vehicles. Other things to look out for apart from oncoming vehicles would be pedestrians, cyclists, farming vehicles and animals in the road.

Watch out for those tight blind bends and crest or dips in the road.
