70k for a toyota, doesn't matter if its top trim, is insane

Remember when a top-trim Tacoma with the V6 was around $40k?? Wasn't that long ago!

You’d have to be crazy to pay $70K for this truck. Good luck Toyota!

For once, getting the Frontier makes more sense.

70k. 70k and you don't get useable rear seats, you have no manual transmission (or even paddles) a 4 cylinder and an interior that creaks and rattles. Lol, no. What an absolute heap.

Ah yes I can’t believe we are at the point where a midsize pickup truck with a 4 cylinder costs 70k

Journalists need to stop tip-toeing around manufactures feelings and just say it like it is. I'll say it for you... the Ranger Raptor is better in nearly every way and is $10k cheaper.

That screen is too small. It should cover at least half the windshield.

My family bought a trd pro 4runner in 2016 for 42k out the door at the dealership. The whole point of the 4runner/tacoma is that they relied very little on electronics, interior was built to be easily cleaned and durabale, and all the mechanical parts were simple and reliable (fuel economy and luxury came second). Toyota has gone against everything I just stated and significant increased the price. This new one should either have been a new model under a different name, or have gone to the land cruiser or some other more expensive model, not the 4runner/tacoma.
Edit: also why is there significantly less leg room now.

Bought the Ranger Raptor. It handles great. That's coming from someone who also owns a 992. I love Toyotas; but they have a hard time going in a straight line. Even Trd Pros.

Toyota isn’t what Toyota used to be. Wouldn’t buy a new one, no matter the model.

After planning to pay all $65k for this all new 24' TRD Pro, I was looking forward to one for me and my young family for months. I put down a deposit, and when I finally got to go see it in person, I'll never forget how my heart dropped when I saw the rear seat room. I even grabbed my kids car seat and put it in the back and adjusted the front seat to my normal driving position. There was absolutely no way I could buy this. Took my deposit back, researched for another few months and finally ended up with a 24' Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. What a shame, Toyota.

Thank you for that turning radius test. That was important to see the two point turn, the normal turn, and the giant circle. Edit: I would love to see that same test for the 25 Tundra and the 25 RAM 1500. Also do not miss the paddle shifters. Never used them on any car/truck/van I have ever owned and also do not know anyone who have used them.

I would add that I think the sound of the engine might be the best in the mid-sized truck market.

The EPA “forces” these companies to go from a v6 to a v4 turbo and they don’t get any better mpg’s. And they are all more expensive than ever…

I really love this new tacoma it will be really good on the highway 🛣️ and off-road works

Yeaaa I'd rather have the previous gen Tacoma TRD Pro (with a V6 and in manual) over this. They're been a lot of recalls on these new Tacomas (and Tundras too), involving engine overheating, and even transmission problems (both automatic and manual).

This price for a vinyl interior that actually looks like 70's vinyl! No way!

Its crazy that vehicles are more expensive and less reliable these days
