I've said for years that St. Louis is one of the most underrated cities that there is - especially when it comes to food. I love. St. Louis!!

St. Louis provel cheese is a combination of cheddar, swiss and provolone cheeses developed as a super melty cheese without being stringy like mozzarella. It has a lot of flavor unlike moz

A lovely little video. We moved to outside St. Louis a couple years ago from Seattle and it's been tough finding foods that we like and I certainly got a few good tips from this video.

I'm a native St. Louisan currently living in San Diego. The tacos are great here, but I miss all of the local cuisine you had just mentioned. I do get homesick.😢

I love the Hill was in one of the stores you showed, I an Italian & love the restaurants, knew u were at Urban Chestnut in the Grove, Sanctuaries & Sauce on the Side, a Cakzone place are great. The best Slingers, especially at 3AM on a Saturday morning are at The Courtesy Diner. The one thing that u different mention that is native to St Louis is the St Paul Sandwich from some of the Chinese restaurants, it's egg foo young on white bread with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato & pickle, it's delicious. Thank you for your wonderful review of St Louis, it has so many nice places.

The cheesecake in Little Italy on The Hill. Nothing ever came close for me & that’s 70 years. I’d pay in gold for the recipe.

I love the Dierbergs recipes! Forgot that I used to pick those up, frequently, but many of them have become family favorites.

My goodness, I was visiting STL last month and didn't know about the STL style pizza. Now I feel like I have to go back :)

You should add Gus' Pretzels to your list. It's just across the highway from the AB Brewery and it's as iconic in St. Louis as they come. They are available frozen throughout the city and many convenience stores will have "fresh" ones for sale. But nothing like getting them fresh from where they are made. When I was a kid in the 70's, you could buy them in bags of 4 or 5 on many big intersections in the city. Vendors would come up to your car and you give them $1 and they give you a bag of pretzels. I remember going with my Dad to the original little place on Arsenal that they have since expanded significantly. I think they are on the 4th generation of this family owned business.

Like Mark Finley, Harriet and I have not been to St. Louis in a long time. We remember Fitz Root Beer and The Custard Ice Cream. Like you, we still like Mozzarella on our pizza. Jocelyn. We also remember eating at the ballpark (Busch Stadium). great food eats there. As always, great tips. Luv💖 ya you all. Jim and Harriet.

Thanks for giving St. Louis some favorable press, Jocelyn. I am a fan of Wolter’s World, but I didn’t know that you were from near St. Louis. I am a long time resident, and I would offer a few caveats, with which others may or may not agree. Ted Drewes is all that they say it is, and it is always very crowded, but the service is very fast. Highly recommended. Imo’s pizza is very popular here, but not everyone likes provel cheese. There are a lot of other wonderful pizzerias that offer alternatives. We do have a significant Italian community, and many fine Italian restaurants, not all of which are on “The Hill” (which is not really that hilly, BTW.) Toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake are overrated, as are Anheuser-Busch products (although A-B has indeed done a lot for the community). And the best barbecue can be found on street corners during summer months, sold by local clubs and churches. I have lived here almost all my life, but we do not refer to our town as “The Lou.” It’s ‘Saint Louis’ with an ‘s.’ And baseball and where we went to high school really are serious topics for discussion.

Born and raised there and appreciate the reviews even though very superficial on all and downright wrong on a couple.

The Grove has come a Loooong way in the past 20 years! It used to be a poor scary area. Lots of drugs back in the day.
