Sony’s next generation virtual reality headset is on the horizon, and with it the promise of a much-improved experience over its predecessor. As it happens, early play testers are singing its praises, and with exciting VR only launch titles such as Horizon Call of the Mountain ready to immerse players, it may be that for those who can afford to stump up the cash PSVR2 might just be hitting a home run.

Sony have pretty much upgraded everything for their next VR headset, so here’re 15 of the biggest differences before PSVR2’s launch on 22nd February.

Bro please stop spreading the lie of the major price hike. The PSVR1 was $400 for the headset alone, but the bundle for the headset, camera and controllers which are all needed to play proper VR was $500. That's already just a slight increase up to $550 for the PSVR2, but when you adjust for inflation the PSVR was actually $620 in todays dollar value.

People can complain about the price… but I would much rather complain about the price than complain about the resolution, FOV, lack of Haptics, and lack of eye tracking. Sony could have made a $399 headset but then people would complain that it wasn’t truly “next gen.” PSVR2 is going to be incredible.

I’m really sick of reviews saying there’s a “massive price hike” there isn’t. Thankfully, a lot of people have said the same thing in these comments

Point 1 is incorrect. PSVR2 costs 550. In 2016, the PSVR1 with the headset, camera, and PS Moves cost 600. To be fair, there was a limited launch bundle at $499.

"Huge price hike"...right off the bat, you get things wrong.

When I got the first PSVR, it was the most affordable option for a good VR experience with an awesome library. Now, with the PSVR2, I think it is a great option once again. If you want the same experience on PC that the PSVR2 can offer, you have to spend a lot more than $550, so I think it's a good deal, even for those who don't have a PS5 yet.

Psvr 1 price was actually more expensive, $399 for the psvr $60 for camera controls $100 = $560 so I really do not know why people are going on about the price.

Could also compare it to the industry leaders... the Quest 2 and the Pico 4. PSVR2 has OLED, Quest 2 and Pico 4 do not. Quest 2 can only do a maximum of 100 nits. PSVR2 has better resolution than the Quest 2, and a better refresh rate than the Pico 4... not to mention the larger field of view than both, has eye tracking, haptics and adaptive triggers. And the PSVR2 will likely have a good build quality, unlike the Quest 2 and Pico 4.

Maybe go into the benefits the wire brings. There's a reason the PSVR2 is going to be a game charger and is a step above all other headsets and it's in part to the wire. Not gonna get what it offers without it unless you want a very heavy object on your face

I’m not even going to bother watching the rest of your video. Almost every comment on the first page is calling you out for lying about the price. Let me guess, next you’re going to say how much better the quest is with it’s RE4 graphics that look like ps2… Look at RE Villiage.

PSVR sold for $500USD with the Move controllers. That is $618USD in 2022 when factoring this inflation... PSVR2 is actually cheaper.

You know this is a bad video when they want the headset to be wireless when the reason for it is that it can use the power of the PS5....come on guys.

Was skeptical at first but they made the improvements I was hoping they would make from the original psvr. Pre ordered mine last month. Now if Sony gives it the right amount of support it will be a great addition to the ps5

can’t wait pre ordered mine a few weeks ago, the meta 2 really got me into it and showed me how fun VR is, been having a blast on contractors so if anyone plays none of my friends have a headset so i’m down to get on

Your claime of HUGE price increase is a HUGE MISTAKE and incorrect research. On top of that you mentioned PSVR2 price in all three currencies including 599 euros but PSVR1 you only stated 349 pounds to give the incorrrct perception of price difference. PsVR1 was not functional without PS CAMERA and MOVE controllers. Altogether it cost 560 atleast. PsVR2 costs 550 and has the cameras built in and controller included in box. It is actually cheaper than PSVR1 and if you count inflation than it is even more cheaper. You need to clarify your points as a pinned comment so that your false assertion does not mislead your viewers

Dude. Pricing is virtually the same. Like. Exactly lol. Between inflation and the move/camera bundle. Get it right

Oh cool! Didn't know about that Anti-Fogging Feature! This was always a major Problem for me as a Glasses-Wearer on PSVR1.

Thumbed down and stopped watching for lying about there being a huge price hike, when in reality they are practically the same exact price, only you are getting FAR better tech with PSVR2.
If you can not be arsed to do your research, then don't expect me to waste my time watching.

Lazy journalism. The price details, psvr1 came without controllers and camera, all had to be purchased in addition, the price is pretty even. The cable, "shame they couldn't go wireless like Quest", perhaps you should explain why this is the case, i.e., the quality and potential performance of PSVR2 games will be far superior being powered by the PS5 instead of a mobile chipset. If you're going to do it, do it right
