This video is just me explaining how to structure your maths studies IA! Please remember that my words are advice, not gospel.

Also, in the video I mentioned that my IA had not been marked yet. Between filming this video and posting it, it was given a rough grade by my teacher of 17/20 before improvements. 😊😊

As promised, here is what you could be including in the maths processes section. (You should show all of your working out, as well!)

1. Proving 𝑥̅ and 𝑦̅

𝑥̅ = Σ𝑥/n
𝑦̅ = Σ𝑦/n

2. Proving 𝜎𝑥 and 𝜎𝑦

𝜎𝑥 =√((Σ𝑥^2)/n - 𝑥̅^2 )

𝜎𝑦 =√((Σ𝑦^2)/n - 𝑦̅^2 )

(bare in mind, the ^2 means 'to the power of 2')

3. Proving the 𝑟 value (correlation coefficient)

Sxy = (Σ𝑥𝑦/n) - 𝑥̅ × 𝑦̅

𝑟 = S𝑥𝑦/(𝜎𝑥 × 𝜎𝑦)

4. Proving 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏

𝑦 - 𝑦̅ = (S𝑥𝑦/𝜎𝑥^2)*(𝑥 - 𝑥̅)

You may want to add more, but this is what I used!
