Should've made the pillagers a Nomadic empire like the Mongols, they have little bases aka the towers with the camps around it, they ride ravengers and stuff, plus they come in raid parties.

Is it just me or this cycle of villager's history is similar with Roman's history. Roman kingdom - Roman republic - late Roman republic - Roman Empire. The cycle is similar to me in some way
