Personally I find the wandering trader to be useless, aside from the leather and leads one can get from killing his llamas. He'd be more useful if we could *sell* things to him, after all, he's supposed to be a trader. Traders don't just sell only, so wandering traders showing up with "I have X items to sell and I'm looking for Y items to buy" would be a simple but incredibly useful update.
