Inside downtown's 'most dangerous' building

KHOU 11 News was given exclusive access to an abandoned downtown building Thursday that has been forbidden to the public for nearly two decades.

A security guard for 24 hours a day is $500, 000 a year? Wow.

I am always amazed at how many people have no clue that the building is loaded with asbestos. It can't simply be "imploded" because the asbestos fibers would become airborne and be virtually impossible to clean up. Part of the reason the building isn't being torn down is because of the difficulty in doing so. It has to be dismantled and the pieces takes away by truck.

Why hire a security guard when you can just call the police that "there's a guy inside" and that police officer will spend all night walking around with a flashlight trying to find them.

Stayed there in 1998 when it was a "hotel" still..giant crackhouse! Remodeled rooms in 1985 when it was the original holiday inn downtown.

I found a kitten in there. A baby kitten and she lived to be 19 years old. The place was shit back then to.

Wish they didn’t close it down a lot of homeless people could have used it to sleep there and place away from the cold and the rain and it was just a cool hangout spot in general the view at the top was amazing just chilling smoking with your friends it truly is a vibe I’m happy I was able to experience I think they’re knocking it down soon cuz someone recently bought it they just recently started cleaning it up and closing all the entrances they finally got the metal sheet on the side
