A three year old British girl is being awarded for her bravery - after she phoned the emergency services when her pregnant mother fell down the stairs. Emma who's from Bristol in South West England managed to give her address to the responder and talk through what had happened. Emma's mum Catherine and the new baby boy are both fine thankfully, she told us how proud she was of her daughter!

The lady’s voice changed when she found out it was a child. My heart melted when she called her names. What a kind soul.

“Baby is in mummy’s tummy”. This kid gets the award for most concise and precise communication. A big applause to the operator too who handle the situation very kindly without instilling any fear or urgency in the child.

The call operator literally changed her tone to one of a motherly kind after a child voice came through the line

It’s hard to imagine that this is a 3 year old toddler, she sounded so mature and calm in a situation like this. And I wasn’t aware a 3 year old could talk so well 😭

“And she’s got a baby”
“It’s in mummy’s tummy”
What an absolute sweetheart.

She activated her mum voice very quickly as soon as she realised she was talking to a child. She’s brilliant

The operator was simply brilliant. To engage a three year old child in such a manner when mummy is hurt to keep that lifeline connected is magical. The little girl responded to everything the operator needed to give mum the best chance at recovery. I hope everyone was ok. God bless that lady and little girl.

Kudos to everyone involved. Parents taught her well. She called for help and the dispatcher knew exactly how to handle this

She started the call all pro, then instantly switched to her "mother voice" after hearing a child on the line.

I love how innocently the toddler reveals her sibling is still in her mother’s belly

"she's going back to sleep now" instantly started tearing up. Poor kid, what a champ for saving her Mom.

Off the topic: This is what good parenting looks like.

I absolutely love how the British handle emergency calls, especially with children. It's a big deal when a pregnant woman falls down stairs, but this lovely emergency worker makes it sound like a tea party with crumpets and jam. I love the 'my darling' and 'my lovely' phrases. No one does this stuff better than the British do. On American calls with a child it's always tense, and sounds like the proverbial "teeth pulling", with the emergency 911 call takers sounding like they've never dealt with a child in their life.

How's the baby? "It's in mummy's tummy". What a smart 3 years old.
