We're expecting our first kid early next year. This is really helpful advice, and I'm surprised it does not have more views than it has! Thanks for this!

My almost three year old grandson seems so hard headed. He is speech delayed however so maybe he doesn’t understand? It’s so frustrating for all of us. He is really bright however and can point to anything we ask, he just can’t say the words. We will try some of these techniques. Thank you. 👍🏼😊

This is amazing advice. Thank you so much. I recently discovered your videos and now I can't stop watching them. Extremely helpful information here. You've made me realize that as a father, I'm not putting in as much effort as I can or should be. I wish my own parents were able to give me this helpful advice but I feel as though they themselves struggled with these very same things when they were raising me. I can't tell you how helpful these videos are for me and my family. Please keep posting new videos. You have elevated me from being a good father to an AMAZING father. And I can't thank you enough.

very helpful video. on a side note though, one doesn't always have the time to give the child options, there times when they'll just have to do as mom/dad says period. when it's time for them to face the real world out there, like school for instance, more often than not they will have to obey without necessarily being given options. I think balance is key here: sometimes you do let them choose so they can learn to be in control, other times they still need to listen and do as asked.

My daughter just turned 2 and man she’s smart and very strong willed. She won’t hold my hand and wants to run in a public place. If I try and grab her hand she will fall to the ground and it’s embarrassing. I have to pick her up as she screams and yells while all other parts with young kids just walk hand and hand with no issues. She very very strong willed. Hellp

My daughter runs towards the cats dish, picks it up, smiles at me then tosses the food all over and laughs. Where to start

I HAVE the same situation with my 4 yr old grandson. He is also speech delayed so I wonder if he understands. I believe he does but is testing mer. Whatever I say or ask the majority of the time his answer is NO! HE turns his back, folds his arms, and frowns with a NO. Moat times I ignore him while other times I lose my patience & force him to do what I ask. it ends up with him in tears. When he does cooperate I praise & thank him but I don't agree with options all the time. What have you tried?
