Do I wish my XL had more? Yes. Does the XL do everything I need and more? Also yes.

In 2014 the F150 King Ranch fully loaded and fully optioned was $56, 000. This is beyond ridiculous.

No doubt that, for the money, the XL would be my choice over and over. I bought the 2019 XLT 250.
Exactly what we needed.

The fact that an XL is $50, 000+ is proof that trucks cost WAY to much

That tail light payload indicator is actually pretty cool. Never knew that was a thing.

Wow, all those bells and whistles on the KR! Watching I kept thinking, "that'll break, that'll break, that'll break". $$$$. I remember test driving a used high end F-150 4 years back. The electrically actuated fold away step bars weren't working, and the power adjustable steering wheel made gear slipping noises when I tried to use it. It's more than a $25k difference between trucks - the repairs are going to be that much more as well.

90% of my truck driving is towing and hauling, the STX trim level is my friend. Use the $25-$30K toward my second non truck vehicle. Plus I'd feel bad for beating on a $80K truck.

First thing you get is HALF the working payload, if not worse (subtract passenger weight and camper top, etc, ). That tow rating of 12, 000 pounds is WORTHLESS as it can't handle the tongue weight. Figure 13% of trailer weight for tongue, so a 10, 000 pound trailer gives you 1, 300 pound tongue weight. Oops, out of payload! Better. not have anything in the bed, or a passenger, or a pet. Since it is a FIVE passenger truck, it just doesn't work. Bonus points on the XL. for the cloth seats.

Andre actually purchased his Ford while Nathan's just hyping a loaner vehicle.

Wish the King Ranch had a column shifter.

The cheaper truck way to go, less things to break in the long run.

I just went on Autotrader and found several older King Ranch F-150s 2012-2014 for 22k-25k with a little over 100k miles.
Further proof that new trucks (especially luxury models) are a waste of money even in this current market. Let others pay the huge cost and take advantage of their depreciation later.

The folding shifter is the dumbest thing ever. Wait till the mechanism gives out

I always get the F150 XLT with 302A package. We don’t like leather seats so it gives us a few more creature comforts without going to leather. Just wish it had auto 4wd.

I prefer cloth vs leather seats. I also prefer normal stereo vs infotainment screen. Double-din slot is handy for mounting one of my ham radio transceivers in-dash, under the stereo. Certainly don’t need or want brightly lit big screens, since a majority of my driving is at night..

I think the XLT power boost is the cheapest model you can get the LED headlights and that honestly is the only other option I would want over what Andre has with his XL grade truck

Great video and you guys make a great duo! I currently own a 19 F150 Lariat and after owning an XLT for years I love all the extra features. Whatever you can afford and whatever you need you cant go wrong either way.An F150 is one heck of a versatile vehicle
