Caulk Like a PRO in 5 Simple Steps. SECRET Revealed!

The first thing you need to know is that caulk typically comes in three different variaties. Now Keeping it simple, you have latex-based caulk, silicone-based caulk and Butyl Rubber based caulk.
Latex Caulking is generally used in dry areas…is water based, so you can clean up in water and typically used for caulking carpentry trim like architraves around doors and windows as well baseboards or skirting boards
Silicone caulking is used in wet areas like in a bathroom or kitchen countertop and Butyl Rubber Caulk is an exterior grade sealant.

The popsicle stick blows my mind! Of course! To get the perfect caulking finish, you need something that not only shapes the caulk, but also catches the excess and cleanly removes it for you!! Thank you so much!!! And I never knew about the water with dish soap, either! Going to use this right now, as I'm caulking my upstairs bathroom!

Great tip at the end to keep the caulk still usable after one small job. It always dries out so I had to throw away the tube. Definitely a great tip. Thank you.

great vid, ive been caulking for 14 years and do exactly the same, another top tip get a decent gun i use the Japanese Tajimas they rock, the only reason i dont use a popsicle stick is you cant get enough sealant off in on go so i use a big rubber thingamebob, keep up the good work uncle knackers !
