The applied caulking still needs to be tooled for proper adhesion. The sandpaper is a good tip to shape the nozzle.

Want a better tip? Primer before you caulk! It last at least 20 years longer.

Nice! Need to caulk a few things around the house and now this made it much easier.

Take a match and burn the fuzz off of the caulk tip

Then use a sharpie to draw a reference line on the nozzle to show you the orientation of the bevel while you're working

Why does the instruction say to cut the tip in a straight line not a 45• angle

Seems like you’d still want those edges blended into the mating surface so there are no tiny undercuts

It still has to be tooled. Even the professionals do not lay down beads so clean they don't have toooled

Finish Line Caulk Pre Filled Precision Applicators are the easiest way to caulk fine lines, small gaps, cracks and hard to reach places. Less waste and less mess. When quality and details matter. Finish the job with Finish Line Caulk.

The reason you take off the excess is not just for a neat finish, it's to also push/fill any gaps! And by the way that finish you've left is awful!

A caulkline that small will tear in a few month.
