Femoral Nerve Entrapment Release - Motion Specific Release - In this video Dr. Abelson demonstrates some of the MSR techniques to release the femoral nerve. Most entrapments of the femoral nerve occur below the inguinal ligament. Symptoms of a femoral nerve entrapment can include pain in the inguinal region that is somewhat relieved by flexion and external rotation of the hip.

Patients with femoral nerve entrapment often present with weak hip flexion, and knee extension. On examination pain may be increased with hip extension and relieved with external rotation of the hip.

Dr Abelson your video here is such a treasure to me. No my chiropractor could not help me much nor was educated about nerve compression. Only today I learned what I had was femoral nerve pain, not sciatica. That took like 2 years to find out. Thank you for your generosity and genuineness. I will definitely subscribe.

Thanks for your video. I've seen my doctor about this and wanted to educate myself so I can have an educated discussion going forward and your video helps.

I've been suffering with femoral nerve pain after a back injury for like 2 years. My range of motion when walking has progressively gotten worse and no one could tell me what was wrong until recently my physio told me she thinks it's nerve related. That information helped me find this video now it makes even more sense and I know what I need to do to fix my problem thank you Doc!

Hi, I’ve had burning and tingling pains in the outer, front, and inside of my left thigh as well as groin spasms for about 20 years. I’ve had tests and been seen by a sports doctor and nobody could figure out what it is. After seeing this and other videos I suspect it might be some kind of nerve entrapment. Thank you for the guidance, I’m hoping to find this kind of relief.

Is this good for pain similar to ITband pain on the side of the knee, but is clearly coming from a pinched nerve feeling in the hip, while running?

Great video! Is there any way to do this on your own? Is it safe to 'experiment' if you don't know the exact spot?

How does the femoral nerve become entrapped? I pulled my psoas muscle in my back By heavy lifting and it radiated around my right hip through my groin and down the top of my right thigh. It was so painful I couldn't walk straight or even stand up straight for about a week. I still feel pain in the groin and femoral nerve. What is the treatment for this? Will this ever go away and how long?

I have compression somewhere and have nerve symtoms. It has been 2 years and tossed around. Recent EMG shows l5, S1 but it is not at spine (no nerve entrapment seen on lumbar Mri and steroids did not work). where can I find someone who does these motion specific release. I am in the northern part of VA and can also travel close by to MD or DC if needed. Any recommendations?

Perhaps not directly related: can an ilioinguinal nerve entrapment (caused by weight strain while kneeling, i.e. an injury of sorts), cause a very hard and swollen right-side pubic area?

It gets hard when standing and walking,
whereas it immediately goes soft(normal) when I lie down.

P.S. It is not Hernia, numerous diagn.were done to exclude Hernia. Thanks heaps for any guidance!
