I grate 1/2 large potato soak in salt water 10 min, drain, papertowel and squeeze out most water. Salt, add half egg and 1 to 2 tbs flour . Stir good. Form in shape like McDonald's fry until golden brown. Makes 2 patties . Just made em. Perfect

Gotta eat them right away. McDonnalds Hashbrowns go from Golden Brown and Delicious to Soggy Gym Socks in the time it takes you to pick them up and drive home.
EDIT: No doubt his are better no matter how long his sit.. he cooked them in freaking duck fat. You could fry a turd in duck fat and it would be good. I'm just saying a fresh McD Hashbrown are still good if you eat them right away.

I finally made these earlier today! I made breakfast burritos for dinner, and did these hash browns for my potato element. They turned out great. I was a little short on the duck fat, so I used my leftover bacon grease to cover what I needed. I also seasoned the potatoes with pepper and onion powder instead of just salt. Finally, I did the prep first thing in the morning, and the potatoes were only on the fridge for a few hours rather than overnight. IF there is an advantage to putting them in the fridge over night compared to just a few hours I would like to know. Bottom line, despite my few changes they were a success!

Thank you for this series man. Both my wife and I were latch key kids and can use a stove but in the last year I just wanted to start cooking. I have been making steak au poivre Bobo De Camarro Scampi De Capellini but my wife is so addicted to fast food understandably. You are helping me show her we can make it better at home but GOD DAMN MAN THE CLEANUP I cleaned the kitchen 7 times this weekend
