My dad worked with Gary at Kenworth Trucking and said he seemed totally normal. Every time someone covers Gary, it blows my mind how close to home this case hits. I grew up in Puyallup, Washington, very close to Kent. May this horrible man rot for eternity!

Hi Kris! Former mormon who lives in Utah here. Your comment wasn't rude about marrying young girls... just painfully accurate.

Often times I can't handle true crime content, but the way Kris presents all these women is so humanizing and makes me wonder how many times their killer's story has been told with barely a mention to them. Here we see their photos, hear their names, and each is given her identity back.
Thank you for the work you do Kris, I hope you know how important this kind of content is. You're making sure these women aren't forgotten and I often feel that we as the audience are sitting in witness together, memorializing them as they deserve.

I was born and raised in Kent. I swam in the shallow end of Green River, and my best friends went to Green River Community College. It's sickening to know that years before I was born he drove the same roads as I did, walked the same paths as I did, and dumped the bodies of his victims in the same waters I swam in.

I have 2 connections to this story. My spouse was a teenager in this area when this was happening & remembers seeing his vehicle on multiple occasions, then recognized him when he was caught. Then a friend where I live now was actually one of the investigators during the trial. They had many interviews with him & says he is a fascinating but highly disturbed man!

Despite not knowing my aunt personally i almost cried watching this because she was a victim of Gary, and her body was apparently found half decomposed. Its just so sad to think about, again, despite not knowing her personally. Thank you for all youre hard work in making these videos for us, me and many others appreciate it a lot, and i hope you've been doing extremely well lately❤

Kris you did an AMAZING job on this! Trying not to dox myself, I grew up literally in his abduction grounds. When I say LITERALLY, the Red Lion hotel (now the Double Tree at that location) is on the corner of 188th and Pacific Hwy, the nearest intersection to where I grew up. He went to the same High School as me, and at the SAME TIME as my future Uncle. HE USED TO WALK HIS DOG AROUND MY SOCCER FIELD DURING PRACTICE. When i was growing up, my mom was (ahead of her time) obsessed with serial killers, religiously read Anne Rule, and the Green River Killer freaked her out, understandably. I was born in the 80s, and he wasn't arrested until I was in High School.

Excellent job, I screamed SEVERAL times during this because the locations you named were places I frequented ALL. THE. TIME.

At 44:30 when he said 71, it literally gave me chills. How can he admit to that with no remorse...

He unalived that poor soul IN FRONT OF HIS SON? Eww. I hope his son is getting therapy and is okay. That is incredibly traumatizing.

My grandpa was the lead investigator for the Green River Killer case and wrote a book about his experiences during that time called "Chasing the Devil." You should check it out if you get the chance. Also, great video as always Kris 👍

Listened to this story in my law class in high school, absolutely heartbreaking and I have the utmost sympathy to all the victims family. But I’m excited to hear our Auntie Kris explain it herself <3

I spent 15 years of my life in this area of Washington and still consider it home to this day. All of these locations, Auburn, Black Diamond, Kent, Tacoma, Enumclaw and Pac Highway were my stomping ground as a teenager. The strange thing is, growing up in these areas seemed extremely safe at the time. I remember hearing of Gary Ridgway all throughout my childhood. He was the demon of the area that not many locals like to talk about. It goes to show that monsters like this often lurk in the most unexpected places and look like the most unassuming folks you see. Its always eerie to hear stories like this about places you are familiar with, but also a healthy reminder to always have your guard slightly up no matter where you are.

My dad works with a woman whose sister was murdered by him, she had a bad home life and ran away to get away from it, and she just never returned.

Before my dads passing, he worked for one of the prisons that Gary Ridgeway stayed. Frequently walked him and said “one of the most down to Earth people you’ll ever meet.” Even helped transport him to the Colorado prison he’s in now.

Hey Kris! Thanks for covering this case.
When I was in college (UNF in Jax, FL) my professor for a DOPE class called “Serial Killers in Florida” or something like that was an ex-FBI agent who worked on this case towards the end!
Her name is Ellen (can’t remember her last name right now) and she retired a few years after that class, then became the Mayor of her town. 😂
We didn’t hear *too* much about it from her, since she wanted to focus on our state, but she did say that it was almost a cold case by the time she was assigned to it, but the details and victims found always stayed with her…
Thanks again!
EDIT: Hope she doesn’t mind me outing her as a terrific teacher but her name is Ellen Glasser :)

I lived right by the river when I was a kid and I remember my mom wouldn’t let me walk by it by myself bc she said, “you don’t know what you’ll find” and realized when I was older that she was scared I’d find a body, even decades later.

My heart goes out to all these women in the afterlife, I hope that they were able to find peace after their untimely passing. There's a special place in hell for people like Gary. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge all the victims, we love you sm!

It’s insane to me that my grandmother knew this man would talk to him all the time…. My heart goes out to the families and victims. I can’t imagine the pain they go through everyday
