US safety regulations for pickups and SUVs allow them to have much worse rollover protection than regular cars. The automakers lobbied for this lower standard because of the increased cost to build a strong structure to support the weight of the vehicle. The got what they wanted. Now it's time to pay the bill.

I worked for Ford 5 years, master mechanic, we're talking about the difference between car crash safety standards , an truck standards. The trucks have no high strength steel in the cab structure like car do. Trucks Don't have door side rail beems. Been this way for ever. Won't tell you this in the show room !!!!. If I had a truck period, I'd have custom roll over bars.

Remember the ads “ Ford where quality is job one.” Unfortunately they still live up to an older statement “Fix Or Repair Daily.

Bought a ford once - unfortunately. Hole in the block due to poor casting. Apparently still happens. Radiator full of sand due to poor washing out after casting. Brakes didn't work on wet roads. Handling dangerous. All electronics would regularly fail. Clock useless, fuel gauge hopeless, electronic timing failed regularly, required replacement every 6 months or car would just stop, caused 3 car pile up in our case. AC evaporator failed at 12 months (just after warranty lapsed). Never had a battery last more than 6 months because there was no stepped charging on the system - either flat out or off. Hand brake cable failed because wrong wire rope construction. My ford cost me a mint to keep on the road. Seeing that ford blue oval still males me angry.

And everybody loses their mind on a paint blemish on a Tesla man.

Thank you!

My heart goes out to all of those people, the future ones yet, as the vehicles are on the road still, the families, the 1st responders.

They, Ford & legacy auto, have stopped being good engineers a long time ago.

This news is shocking but it really shows the different thinking to Safety between Ford and Tesla.
Every time a Tesla is involved in any incident the Internet is full of the stories of how dangerous Tesla's are and yet the main ones to worry about are the ones in plain sight!
As for the Ford Mustang E, this is the first time I've heard of any problems with it!

The entire vehicle industry has allowed people to think bigger vehicles are safer. Then at the same time not requiring roll cages in trucks. It is decades of false advertising in my opinion.

When consumer reports, which is basically owned by Ford, withdraws its recommendation for the Mach E, you know it’s a problem

Wow, I have one of these. I am joining this suit because of your video. Thank you for informing me. I can't wait till I can replace my truck with an ev truck.

This problem has been a well known issue for decades. It still exists in it's EV version .

Thanks Viking, I had planned on getting a new ford vehicle just before the engine in mine blew up, 2016 Ford edge ecoboost 2.0. It had the carbon build up problem behind a valve and the people I talked at the Ford dealership outright lied about it being an issue. If you search on the web or even Ford's website, it is all over for many years. I would rather switch brands then pay another $8, 000 for a new engine from Ford. Your video just confirms my suspicion that their vehicle quality is crap.

Didn't Tesla Model S break the testing equipment when testing roof structural safety? They've had a few cases of Tesla Model Xs rolling onto their roofs, usually after going down an embankment, and the passenger cabin staying intact. Tesla's don't rollover during crash testing, due to lower CoG, from the battery being low.

And when your warranty expires be prepared to dig deep into your pocket to keep your Ford on the road!

This is the reason I sold my hummer ev. I didn’t trust the roof strength of that 10, 000 lb truck.

My youngest so has ordered a full sized Bronco, I hope it’s not a maintenance queen and he has good luck with it. Also, I haven’t heard anything about Bronco’s having a weak rook so hope that isn’t an issue.

I was once told that USA is an acronym. Fix or repair daily, you suffer after.

These are my thoughts. I remember the Ford Pinto back in the 70s that was Ford’s attempt to make a fuel efficient car the Ford Pinto actually got about the same mileage is an LTD. The only difference is it also had an exploding option if you get rear ended the car, but more than likely explode, because of where the gas tank was and the only way to fix the problem was to get rid of the car. The legacy manufacturers of automobiles in the United States are not motivated in any way towards fuel, efficiency, or safety they never happen, and you can see they’re not now, and that’s a big question. Why not?
