Why Minecraft's New Enchantment Update Is Actually Gigantic

Minecraft 1.21 snapshot 24w18a introduced a ton of giant changes to enchantments and how they are done. This is gigantic for the future of Minecraft and new enchantments that might make their way to the game.

An enchantment to shoot a light source from a bow would be amazing.

Ironic, because enchants so much more likely to be used over potions (at least in my community) and definitely more than spawn eggs, creative or survival.

I would love an enchantment similar to light arrows from Zelda ToTK to be able to shoot torches from a long range

This kind of thing is exactly what I wanted Minecraft to get more of. I can imagine dozens of new potions and enchantments. I hope Minecraft actually adds these new enchantments rather than relying on players to code them ourselves.

Mojang is going NUTS with this update. I'm not sure how to iterate how long revamping this ENTIRE SYSTEM INTERNALLY must have taken.
This'll make things more convenient for the devs AND modders! It's a crazy QoL!
