It's honestly not unbalanced when you think about the fact that a wooden sword, even with unbreaking 3 is not going to last long enough for a substantial PvP battle. Sure, it might go strong for a while, but it's gonna break eventually and then they're fucked. Plus it's really expensive to put those enchantments on something so it's a terrible investment anyway. The way smite works is weird anyway, it sort of ignores armor.
