Say what you want about #Tesla, they’ve staked a remarkable claim on the automotive landscape in little more than a decade, and have certainly pushed traditional car makers to take both them and fully electric vehicles much more seriously. Their latest land-grab attempt is in the wildly popular small SUV Segment, with the 2020 Tesla #ModelY.

There's something fascinating about watching the same car reviewer that tested cars from the early 1980s now driving a Tesla. Thanks for the many videos over the years!

Bought one for my wife. After a month she just said: "I can't wrap my head around why everyone isn't making these." It's like getting kicked 20 years into the future. 10, 000 miles, no issues, no service, no problems, no oil, no gas. Just 5 cents a mile for electrons.

Some of you are being too harsh with Motorweek. It is a very short (25 mins) "magazine" TV show on PBS. They never get into a deep dive because they simply don't have enough time. They just go over the basics, period. As for the acceleration, the track was not fully dry on a windy overcast day. You can see the initial acceleration with wet tires and the vehicle getting squarely. Then, add the wind, and possible cooler air temperatures. The latter makes a car slower due to air density. It is also uncalled for to bring up the host being "old". This show is 40 years old, yes, but John Davis is only the host. Behind the camera, they do have a young group of test drivers, including his son. Just appreciate the fact that they did the short review. By the way, models 3 and Ys are not as sensitive to the state of charge. I watched a test of a Model 3 that only started losing performance once it got to 10%.

I bought an electric weedeater not long ago. It's great! I'll never go back to gas power weedeaters. No oil, no gas. Pull the trigger and it works. Amazing!!!

After 50 years of owning ICE vehicles I bought a Model Y in July. I haven't been this happy driving since My original 240Z. I only wish Id done it years ago. They do have the reported fit and finish problems but my local service center has been very responsive to me. A great fun car to own.

didn't mention the 5 star+ safety rating in ALL categories... I think people would want to know that as well :)

Very happy with the Y’ s battery range and so impressed with the super charge stations throughout the east coast.

Braking from 60 is under 100ft? WOW, that's super impressive for such a heavy vehicle. Why is stupid consumer reports out running fake news that these get terrible stopping performance? Under 100ft is a really good sports car.

Why is your 0-60 time so far off? It’s clearly a Performance model being tested…

"We couldn't get used to not seeing a traditional instrument panel" is the new "lacking gauges for voltage and oil pressure".

They should really make the distinction between the long range model Y and the performance version... he didn’t even mention auto pilot/ full self driving...

Long range dual motor:
0-60 4.8 sec
326 mi range
Top speed 135mph

Performance:
0-60 3.5 sec
303 mi range
Top speed 155mph

Model Y looks great. I feel sorry for those buying gas powered cars at this time. After owning a Tesla, everything else feels prehistoric.

They showed the Frunk storage but didn't show the additional under rear deck storage.

What happened to the person who would stand at the end of the line to measure 0-60 using a stopwatch? lol

Motorweek just showed something very important, so many in the media have not been very knowledgeable until probably the last 2 or 3 years as far as Tesla’s and electric cars in general, so it’s so important to ask the owners about them instead of just generalizing on a 10 minute drive, word of mouth, or even many usual negative news and media reports. I am a new Model 3 owner since September and I love the whole Tesla/electric experience!
