I have a 2020 Tesla Model Y so I felt it would be good to do a video pointing out the differences between mine and the 2021 model. There are many differences but not enough for me to want to buy the new version. We also discuss the difference between a Model 3 and Y from an owners perspective. 5 dB difference is actually significant. Remember, dB uses logarithmic scale. So if you are getting 5 dB noise reduction, that means it’s more than double the noise reduction. 3 dB = double the magnitude

I noticed that the temperature sensor under the screen appears different as well. I know/saw this because I had to remove my screen to install my swivel mount for it. So nice! It's also 1.6" lower than factory, so you can see the whole windshield and dashboard. Great upgrade 👍

Just did a Model Y test drive. It was not the performance version and they did not have the $2000 boost and it was still phenomenal. 60 - 80 felt instantaneous ! I am used to a Volt which I have been happy with but the Tesla was crazy fun.

I have a 2020 Model Y Performance made in September. It has that reverse “ghost” noise too. We call is the UFO. U get use to it.

With regards to the paint potentially mismatching between the bumpers and the body panels: The exterior pieces are typically painted before assembly while off the body. This is so they can get all of the nooks and crannies painted and get paint to protect against rust in the places you can't see. The bumpers MAY be coming from the supplier pre-painted. Even if they are painted at the assembly plant, different materials can take paint differently. It's one of the toughest things to "get right". Getting the finishes on everything to be consistent is an area where a new car company/model/plant can take awhile. Getting all of the little details right is really hard.
