The crew trying to hush Eurylochus was an incredible touch

Not gonna lie, Scylla's final line in the song already shows she sees and understands what he was doing, but the fact that she grabs and confronts him in this makes it even eerier. Like she's fully aware of what he's doing before the deed is done and is complying with his plan. Like a "I won't rat you out, but I see you for what you really are", and that is honestly so chilling.

Odysseus having blood on his cheek to symbolize that these deaths are 100%, completely, entirely on *HIM* is...mwah.

The crew telling Eurylochus to shut up is such a nice little detail.
Also Ody turning away and putting his hands on his ears because he doesn't want to listen to ther screams?!! This is perfect

1. The crew trying to stop the confession because of the emotional damage.
2. Scylla is so massive compared to the human looking part.
3. One of the only animations that matches the kills with the screams in the track.
4. Scylla's self-aware villainous ass tormenting odysseus while doing this by going in his freaking ear.

I like the detail of the crew hushing Eurylocus. It gives the idea that THEY were the ones to do it, and Eurylocus is just taking the blame for them, which makes mutiny hit harder, showing how much the crew trusted and sided with him

AUGHHHH SCYLLA ACTUALLY APPROACHING ODYSSEUS AND GRABBING HIM BEFORE SPARING HIM. HOW YOUNG THE LAST CREWMATE LOOKED. EUROLYCHUS REALIZING WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND TRYING TO SAVE HIM. All your expressions and your creative choices are PHENOMENAL

Having Odysseus turn his back and cover his ears while Scylla attacked his crew at 2:12 was such a perfect detail and I love it. (Also having Scylla approach him and actively sparing him at 2:20 is so so *chefs kiss* perfect!)

I love the fact that in this community, lots of the animatics have the crew given differing designs. We often think of people with large group roles like this as nothing but filler, but because people given them different and noticeable scars and hair and body styles, we look at each of the unnamed crew members as actual people. Which makes it more horrific when they die in ways like this.

Like the second guy with a torch for instance, he has long hair and a strong body, and looks like a badass warrior. And yet can do nothing as he is caught and eaten by Scylla. Or the final one, the man Euryelocus calls out to, his hair and size make me think he’s probably about in his early twenties if not younger. He literally sheds tears in fear as Scylla attacks him. He’s probably just a boy, and yet Oddesyus is allowing him to die in one of the most horrific ways imaginable.

The crew men are all people, not fodder, and they prove so in Mutiny. We might not know their lives, but how they are made in so many animatics shows they they do indeed have lives that matter. The artists and community in Epic are just amazing.

OK, so there’s just so much to talk about with animatic. Firstly, I loved seeing Scylla’s main head get more screen time and how you had her interact with the men, secondly I love seeing Odysseus covering his ears. It was a great detail that really showed how it pains him to sacrifice his men.

I loved the wavering of Odysseus at 1:53 it makes me feel like he’s just realizing the weight of his actions here, of sacrificing some of his crew members. But he can’t take it back, it’s too late now.

I love how you depicted Odysseus feeling actually betrayed. A lot of animatics I’ve seen make it seem he feels nothing, or that he already knew. But I think the notion that he never knew that Eury was the one who betrayed him is a way more painful fact.

Expanding on that, I love how you depict Odysseus having more emotion during this song. It makes it more heartbreaking UGH. THIS WAS SO GOOD

Scylla acknowledging Odysseus like that makes sense because she is singing to him the whole time, and she knows what he did. It's literally in the lyrics, so BRAVO. And that last crewmate had a cute, young face. *sniff*

I love that you made Odysseus turn away and cover his ears as his men were slaughtered. Nice touch, symbolises that deep down, he's still the guy we met at the beginning of epic, , well, at least in my delusion

Okay THIS is the coolest Scylla introduction/design I've seen so far. The sheer uncanny valley of her face. The interaction of her and Odysseus. That TWIST into the sky. Just. Mwah. Brilliant.
