Your training is APPEALING. Never appalling, always commendable how you handle criticism, addressing the aspects that will benefit your subscribers who need it most. Thank you from me and my pup for all that you do!

People online always have something to say about everything you do😂 Denver’s doing amazing! And some dogs learn faster than others.

Your training is beautiful to watch. The consistency is amazing. Plus, the love, caring and joy that you approach training with is what every dog trainer and owner should aspire to. Thank you for sharing this wonderful journey you're on.

I wanted to let you know, that you are just lovely. The way you handled your response is admirable. I have a 15 month old Golden Retriever and trained him in a similar manner. 3-5 short sessions a day, ensure he has time to be a dog, walks (both when he has to walk nicely and those "adventure walks" - hey go nuts and lead the way.), and rest when he needs it. I also stop in the middle of walks to make him sit, stay, touch, etc. What do I have at 15 months? I lovely pup who can be trusted, listens well, doesn't destroy things (though he is a bit of a thief). I learned all of this from multiple professional trainers (both online and in person). Keep being your awesome self. You a role model.

THANK YOU for making this! This made me feel so much better, about stuff that wasn't even related to this other person's concerns. Watching your journey so far with Denver had me worried me and my pup were falling behind or not doing enough. But Denver is a MUCH different dog from my puppy. She isn't a working line, and she's a lot lower-energy.
It is also so helpful to be reminded that even professionals need help, and that no amount of experience makes raising a puppy easy!

I enjoy your training advice! My thoughts on negative opinions is that this is only one individual, don't worry. You get more positive than negatives.

You know what appalling? People not training their dogs. You’re doing an amazing job, and my service dog prospect puppy is greatly benefiting from your advice!!!

I think your training is fine. I have a service dog that I trained with the assistance of Wolfhound Legacy. We did pretty close to the same training. The only difference was my puppy was 12 weeks old when I picked it up from the breeder. Because Myka is used daily by my husband, Friday is her day to go to Fido Fitness. This is her day to let loose and be around her dog friends. I enjoy your videos! Thank you for posting!

Denver is clearly on the right track, and that’s because you’re training him right! There’s a difference between overtraining and setting up for success.

I’m right there with you. Raising a service pup is no small task and burnout is REAL. I’ve also asked the trainer I’m working with to take her for a couple of days because I need a break! No shame, it’s good for them anyway!

That person reposting and criticizing your training is telling more about their own training failures than highlighting anything negative in your regimen. They're basically admitting that the training they do is potentially exhausting and unpleasant to their puppies. In other words, for them to get a puppy to the level that Denver has already reached, they'd need to overwhelm their pup. That's about the flaws in the way they train, and shows that they haven't watched your numerous videos talking about how training should be brief, fun and appropriate for the dog.

Everyone understands that puppies need play. Your training is just making playtime useful, but the pup doesn't know that he's learning skills; he just knows that you're having fun together. Any trainer who doesn't get that, is a trainer I want to avoid!

So don't let the haters get under your skin; we know that their issues are actually about them, and not about you. Keep being awesome and showing us what that happy little pup is capable of! ❤

When I first got my dog he hated training. He was anxious, and he didn't care about food, and he just didn't get it. He is a "stubborn" breed, like he looks like a husky akita mix, and the way it comes out in my dog is pretty simple - he just isn't going to do anything that he doesn't wanna do. 😂The thing is, I think that is true for pretty much every dog, it's just more obvious in sled dogs because they have different priorities than other dogs, they'd rather run and explore than earn a treat. In order to get my dog to like training, I had to learn to pick up how he was feeling about something super quickly so I could tell whether he would find whatever I was planning fun or engaging in that moment, under those particular circumstances. When you're working with more "trainable" dogs, I think it can be easier to overlook how your dog is responding to training because they will still really want to train even if it's making them feel frustrated and exhausted. But I think really good trainers will look at a little hungry lab puppy the same way they look at a bored husky, and they'll see past the food drive and try to understand if the training is really making them feel engaged and happy and balanced. If you are tuned in to your dog, and your criteria isn't just to do the tasks, but to like doing the tasks, then you can train them as much as you want, and you won't burn them out because you'll be able to tell when they're running out of steam and quit the session while it's still fun. I'm completely sure you are connected in to how your dog is feeling, and as expected your little guy has a lot of energy for training, and because you're so experienced, you will be able to see that he's not just doing it, he's loving doing it. So that amount of training isn't good for just anyone, only people with lots of experience who are totally in tune with how their puppy is feeling, and... people with huskies, because huskies will just ignore you if you try to overdo it 😂

Working dogs are just so happy to be working. They are just looking forward to training. Nothing else can satisfy them than offering engagement or training.

I’ve been watching you for a while now and now even more with Denver wishing I’ve had access to those videos when my dog was a puppy. You are teaching us so much and we are so, so lucky that you are doing this and let us benefit from it! Denver does not look overwhelmed or burnout, he looks to enjoy himself so much!!! He sees it as playing way more than anything else and it shows! You are amazing and thank you again.

This is one of the best informative videos I’ve seen about training where you aren’t actually showing how to train a specific task. Great information especially for people who are new to dog training. Lots of good tips. Thanks for sharing this info!!! I’m sending to my daughter who is soon getting her first dog that’s hers to train.
