Absolutely made a terrible mistake. The real professionals train smart and specific. Maximal strength training, like eccentric overload in sport specific movements. Cardiovascular training in sport specific movements. Monitor nutrition, heart rate and lactic acid to optimize recovery.

They don’t exhaust their body on pointless torture. Goggins is good at torture, not actual training. He has destroyed his body and has no business training anyone, especially Tony.

And no, I don’t hate Goggins, I love his story, charisma, passion, psychology and toughness. But he is not a sport biologist, nutritionist or a coach.

Tony needs to take his training seriously and actually improve his game. He can’t rely on his toughness anymore. Stop going to big bear and do body weight exercises and elbow conditioning!
Go to a professional performance coach.

Actually, his MMA coach let him down. Paddy was out of breath due to what looked like a nasal issue, and could have been finished, but his Tony’s coach failed to notice or push the message. He was in good enough shape to win, but didn’t do what he needed to.
