Shoutout to the Male Nurses and #NurseBrothers

Shout out to all my nurse brothers! Working now for almost 3 years has been amazing and I have learned so much and enjoy my work everyday. School was miserable and I am convinced that the "old guard" educators did not like having male nursing students. I was personally singled out as well as other male nurse students around me. Nurses working on our clinical floor even noticed how some of the instructors were harder on the male nursing students than our female counterparts. Very sad and really made going to school and clinical a horrible experience. Ever since graduation every single nurse I work with loves having male nurses around. I have only heard 1 negative comment(from an OBGYN nurse) in 3 years. Horrible educational experience but love my job now!

If u save one life, u are super hero. But saving thousands of lives every day, youre nurse. My hardest part being a nurse? When patients calls "Sister" and i show up, then we argue about why i came, instead of girl. Anyway i never wanted to be Nurse. In entire teen life, i hated my family for forcing me going into medicine field. But today, im thanking them for doing it. I love how good it feels right now, taking care of others, of every bad day how great it is, and to see at the end of the day someone leaving with a smile.

HEY! Love the channel, and most importantly huge fan and long time follower of nurse Mendoza. I am a wound care coordinator in a post acute unit. I never thought wounds would be my passion. Watching Nurse Mendoza throughout nursing school helped me build confidence...and made me want to be a kick ass nurse. As a male in the nursing industry, I too get called from other floors to help transfer and lift things, I have no problem with it. I find that the women I work with respect me a lot more than they respect their fellow female coworkers. We all know how that goes I guess. I will say that being a young nurse in a management position is tougher than the "male nurse stereotype", especially when I am managing staff twice my age.

Love you new show been subscribing for a few years first comment. I've been in the hospital medical field for the past 15 years. Started as a job in radiology file room in 2000 had no idea what nursing was. Learned about nursing still skeptical so transferred to CNA. I loved it and started nursing school right away. Working full time nights became LPN still working full time and finished a year later as an RN In 2009. I've worked in just about every bedside RN setting in the hospital and local travel. I finally found my place and been settled last few years in mixed unit with Med/Surg, Ortho, Tele and ICU. My wife is a nurse also so it's a blessing to have her understand my day. Excellent show if you ever need any guest appearance let me know.

In my class it's 4 guys to 45 guys. I'm proud to be a man in nursing because it takes a special kind of person. Same goes for women. It takes a very special person regardless of gender but it just so happens that men with this quality are a minority at this time in comparison.

I'm a final year nursing student in the UK - Kings college London. There's maybe 10-20 male nurses in our cohort of about 300.
I love doing what I do, gender does not matter! Nursing is my skill, caring is my passion 🤘🏻

There are two guys, which includes myself and another inmate, in my section out of 40 students. There are 5 guys in the other section of 40 students . So about 7 guys out of 80 students?
We have two sections of 40 students totaling ~80 students in my cohort.
We used to have 10 to 11 guys at the beginning of the program, but a few of them dropped out over time.

How do I feel about it?
A bit isolated! I don't get along with any of them. So I am pretty much on my own man. I do group work together, but I am on my own when it comes to hanging out in a group during class or after class.

As the male join the nursing they change the nursing and also advance the quality of care so much we invite other to join this noble profession.

I was thinking about going back to school for nursing. I'm just very hesitant when it comes to making big decisions and I know it won't be easy but I love the thought of helping someone and comforting them. My family says I don't have the temperament for it, but lately I've been really thinking about making a big change in my life. My sister is a RN and she says to me "do you want to deal with asshole DR'S all day and clean shit?". I say well if I'm getting paid 70-80g a year it won't suck so much. Maybe after a while it will get really fucking annoying, but it's something you should realize before you get into it. I know that nothing is perfect, except God of course, but I like the thought of the challenge and making a big change in my life.

Hello, my name is Richy and I want to become a nurse. I start prerequisite classes in the fall. I'm totally motivated and ready but what scares me is the waiting list. Any advice.
