Worst fitness myths DESTROYED

We've been here before & we will be here again as there are so many poor fitness myths about getting healthy & in shape. Some have a bit of theory behind them but are often outdated or proven to be less effective and some are just bad info all together.

Expect to here advice on not letting your knees go past your toes when squatting, it's best to do your cardio after training, if you're not sore you're not working hard enough & much more.

My patella tendon stretched outwards because I'm flat footed and my feet rolled in often with gymnastics, when I used to do a squat I couldn't come back up without being in a lot pain that took time to recover. Since I've quit the gym and started running and I feel like my knee injury never occurred!

This is so true, trained in meat head/power lifting gyms for years where most people were roided up to there eye Ballz claiming natty! So nievly I used to listen to there advice.

I have made so much more progress training 1 hour 5 times a week doing heavy compound lifts in a lower rep range and focusing on diet.

I think I once read that if you mix cardio with weight training you get less gains of muscle mass vs just weight training? Personally I prefer to have better cardio anyway but just wondered if their was truth to this?

Omg I had no idea about combining weights and cardio! I follow HIIT from home normally, something like 30 day shred, is this okay? Knees over the toes made me go WHAT out loud! Mind - blown thanks guys x

Hi Lean Machines, great vid as always. I am trying to gain weight, get a six pack etc. Im not that heavy (so want to gain muscle) but I have quite a bit of body fat. I can only see my abs when flexing. As well as getting nutrition right, should I be doing cardio a couple of days each week to loose body fat, or should I gain weight first and try and loose body fat after. Thanks

I can't agree with more on building a good foundation before go heavy on major lifts. Especially on deads.
