if you just moved your steam installation folder to another folder and it's missing the icon on the taskbar, do this: open steam, right click steam on the taskbar, then click "steam" option above "pin/unpin to taskbar" option.

Thank you so much, totally worked. All my Creative Cloud apps were blank and this totally fixed them. So easy but you're the only one that I found that did the trick. Awesome!

Thank you for uploading this tutorial. I stumbled upon it while trying to fix the taskbar icon for GIMP, that is simply showing as a blank sheet of paper. I tried it your way, but it didn't work. I suspect it has to do with the fact that I installed GIMP in drive D, instead of the default installation in boot drive C. I did the instllation in D because I just don't have the space on C.

hi i have this problem with steam. The icon works when i pin steam to taskbar. But then when i launch it, another blank icon appears in taskbar >.< unfortunately this doesnt fix it :(

i had same problem but from diferent reason

when i reinstal steam to diferent location the icon still have road to last location that why icon doesnt show up

i just changed shortcut to new location and it works

Appreciate the video but my problem is more specific. It's with Steam for me, the taskbar icon is fine, but when I actually open Steam, that open window's taskbar icon is the default broken one, any fixes?
