It is based on a Benchmade Bedlam and the design of the Bedlam and has a very special handle and curve so the large blade fits. I have always noticed this at a Bedlam owner for like 8 years now.

Shadow Daggers are still the most broken knives. After 7 years they aren't able to fix the crosshair bug when you pull them out.

There are knives like that for real, they have protectors for the bit that sticks out. The blade is longer so it can make harder tougher cuts easier.

yes but no. there is actually flip knives that do that intentionally, when the edge is rounded a bit like in the cs one. but they will have a small piece of material that extends past the handle to sheith the blade. my best guess is that they got "inspired" by this but didnt model the thingy cause it looks shit. im actually pretty sure to know the rl model they used

on real folding knives where the blade is longer than the handle, there's usually a little retractable bit that comes out of the bottom of the handle that makes sure the blade isn't exposed when it's folded.

the flip knife is one of my favorites. there is nothing more satisfying than hitting an awp shot or clutching and seeing that flick of the wrist as you pull out the flip knife. it’s just so clean. i love the look of the knife itself, including the disproportionately large blade. it looks vicious. the flip knife is honestly my third favorite after karambit and butterfly

The flip knife is basically just a benchmade bedlam (already one of my favorite knives irl) with a bigger blade, so it's one of my top knives in cs. Theres a company or two that makes csgo replica skins on real knives and they've made their own flip knife with the same proportions as the game and the blade sticks out past the handle about an inch when closed and comes with a piece of plastic to cover it when displayed because of it.

Too bad Valve can't do changes to knife models, then people will complain they spent money on skins that looked a certain way and now they're different

How can anyone hate the gut knife? Not only is the spinny animation cool but it's history in CSGO speaks for itself. Many players first knife was a gut knife. It's basically a right of passage into CSGO. Everyone and anyone in the CSGO market has owned a field tested gut knife at some point in their life.

the real reason why is because from the player perspective in-game the blade matches the handle's size better. it only looks disproportionate from a third person perspective

The model, texture resolution, and animations for the flip knife need an overhaul tbh as well as maybe for some older knives. Hopefully they overhaul em when source 2 comes out!
