Why do they have 30 days to approve or do nothing? They should be on a 1 week time selection if they care that much.

Broken system just letting random fake people claim your videos with no proof or anything

Why do people making fraudulent claims hold all the power in this transaction? It is completely unfair. They can just abuse the system again and again, the creators have to HOPE they are benevolent enough to drop the issue. That is completely unbalanced, you are essentially asking the bully to "please consider NOT bullying me" and hope that they give in, and if they don't, you're simply screwed. Please explain to me how that is fair at all.

We purchased a music license from a creator and used it in one of our videos. A copyright claim came from someone who stole his beat and mumbled over it, then copyrighted it via Sonosuite/Magroove. Clearly fraud, our money is held up in escrow. We disputed it and it was denied. Now what? Why is this even allowed? Is there no appeals process without going to court? This is literally robbery!

Please change this broken system. A random guy has claimed some of my material and now after submitting a dispute, I have to wait a whole month. Which wouldnt be a problem if there wasn't the fact that my video is now DEMONETIZED FOR A WHOLE MONTH!! And Im not the first one that experienced this! especially in the last months and weeks an increasing amount of content creators are reporting false claims, which either freezes their regular uploading schedule or deletes their complete channel, which they have been working for since months..

There needs to be a Strike System for the party making the claim too. If they go through the process but the video is reinstated they should get a strike for false claiming. I understand the need for the auto detection system, but there needs to be consequences for them if they review and reject a dispute that has not infringed their copyright.

So, basically, YouTube will never actually make a decision, they'll just continue to ask the one who made the claim if they want to change their mind, regardless if it's a fraudulent claim or covered under fair use. This is not an arbitration process because the creator has no rights whatsoever.

This seems so unfair, the Claimant holds all the power, if content is flagged by the YouTube system then your only option is to dispute the claim with the person that made the claim and the the final decision is all theirs, make no sense whatsoever.

Good job letting the multi million dollar companies claim and decide if their claims are accurate. Truly a perfectly balanced system.

Suggestion (not that they would listen): When receiving a Content ID claim, when reading more information about the claim, there should be a link to show proof of the original copyright owner's work. This would educate the uploader into knowing what exactly was copyrighted by the system instead of the uploader having to do the research themselves.

So essentially, all the power rests in the hands of the accuser, regardless of whether or not their dispute has merit.

This copyright process is such a pain. I used an edit audio from a creator who explicitly stated that everyone could use their content, and so I did. Instantly got hit with a copyright claim. This is so annoying and frustrating, I wish YouTube would value our opinions and take action but they haven’t.

This has a chilling effect on content creators, as claimants can use the system to bully and intimidate us.

I literally got claimed for uploading music I made 100% BY MYSELF on Soundtrap, which has non licensed music loops. They claimed it because 20 seconds of it happened to have the same loop they used. So now I have to fight this for weeks because they can just claim my whole video, despite those loops being for anyone to use. It is not theirs to claim. Absolutely outrageous!

basically... every time someone strikes you, they'll always win.

I have now gotten 2 copyright claims from WMG for intro music provided by Streamyard and I have letters from Streamyard showing it is their music and they allow me to use it, but on both my claims you only added a "Dispute Claim" button and no area for me add comments or the proof that WMG is not theirs and I am allowed to use it Now I risk losing my channel because you guys can't seem to handle this properly Any help would be appreciated since I've been a content creator for you guys for 13 years

So what am I supposed to do if someone claims to own content in one of my videos but it's been incorrectly identified by your automated system? Where do I go to say "Hey, YouTube, your automated system made a mistake"? I'm not talking about fair use or having permission, I'm talking about your system claiming another channel owns my videos because we both happened to play the same video game, or having a song misidentified in my video, things like that. That doesn't even factor into your dispute process.

what happens if they can not even be bothered to make a decision in 30 days? what happens then? Does it get released or go to appeal? CD Baby does my head in!!!
