A recip blade is much better than a grinder isn’t it? alot safer and cleaner to work around! @DiabloTools demo demon with cermet eats thru this metal! Blades surely have come a long way.

If someone asked me to cut that piece of steel, I’d grab my grinder over my sawzall any day

My first thought was “don’t cut that post holder!”

Definitely easier and less messy of a cut (no abrasive dust), but one 9" Diablo carbide blade costs as much as 30 4-1/2" cutoff discs.

Nothing you say can convince me that this man was able to just "put the blade to the metal" and start the cut without fumbling the blade over a full 2 inch band.

Where’s the connection (lag bolt, or other fastener) from the support to the vertical member, you just cut off the bracket that makes the support useful.

Structural engineers don't like when people cut up the post base that they designed. It was designed that way for a reason.

Real convenient the way the camera wasn't on the work at the start of the cut but pans over a few seconds later.

This was the most exciting video I have ever watched in my life. The anticipation of the plot unfolding was almost more than I could stand.

My boy thought we wouldn’t catch his precut piece

Somebody drew the line in the wrong place but the guy with the saw knew where it REALLY needed to be cut

Did not know Canelo made construction vids

I saw the corn growing behind him and instantly thought, "He who walks behind the rows." 😂

I always touch the blade with my bare hands after a cut. It’s always a great idea to do that.

The best part is when you realize he cut off the part of the mounting bracket you're supposed to be putting carriage bolts through in order to secure the wood into the footing that's of course cast into the concrete...
It's almost as if they designed it that way to help tie the structure down to the ground in case of shifting load or high winds...
But thankfully all of that isn't necessary when you have products to shill.

I had a lower control arm bolt seized in the bushing (a 1inch diameter bolt). I fought it for a week, couldnt find a way out. Picked up a pack of carbide blades, only thing that could fit the gap. Cut the bolt in 30 seconds, i now only use carbide sawzall blades to cut everything, even my turkey

They are good for tight spots. You might have to cut the blade. For that you are definitely going to need a grinder

Looks like it was partially cut before he "started the cut" for the video. I could easily be wrong. Just curious because the camera person waits to come around and show the blade cutting in the beginning.

that looks like it was hot as shit but you wanted to pretend like it wasn't

Someplaces you cannot use grinders due to the risk of causing fires, and this is the best alternative. I have replaced cast iron pipes and these can be very difficult to cut with standard metal blades. A good blade can actually save an hour of work and be worth the cost, even if it still only holds for one job.

That blade is pricey but well worth every penny when you’re cutting cast iron all day on a demo job.
