A Grinding Disc That EATS Metal! Victograin VS Traditional Grinding Discs

In this video im going to show you just how much more effective an engineered abrasive is vs the normal stone grinding discs you may be used to seeing. These discs cost about the same amount, but are 4 or 5 times faster, and last multiples longer! I knew they were good, but I was actually shocked when I went back and looked at the time differences.

Wish I had watched this video ages ago. Bought a box of them and my goodness the difference is night and day. Way less vibration and noise and unbelievably faster material removal rate. Feels like using a flap disc instead of a traditional stone grinding disc. Lifetime is still not clear to me yet but first impression are seriously impressive! Thanks a bunch for sharing this, I will never use anything else ever again.

Man I’m so glad I saw this, and thanks for taking the time to showcase such a great product. As a blacksmith I go through discs like crazy and have searched far and low for a great disc like these and finally settled on ceramic flap discs but that’s gonna change now from watching this. I know Pferds quality having some of their Carbide burrs, and files, and they make the best modern made metal working tools I’ve found so far, shows how many tools they offer with these sitting under my nose the whole time.

Dude…. Those Victrograin are amazing. Saved my patience, hands, and time. They are money. I had one in my kit before watching this just to sample it out from my local weld supply. Tried it out and now I use it predominantly. Yes they’re pricey, but the time savings makes it way worth it. Also, I feel I can control it better. Thanks!

Thanks for that, most frustrating part of fabricating is too use a grinding disc that feels like it's just sliding over the steel after the first minute, you forgot to mention how much less heat is being generated

Appreciate the time you spent making this video. I’ve seen you use this brand and other channels as well. I was not aware of these disc crushing the ones I use from the box stores that only care about large contracts and lowest prices to fill their shelves. I have permanent nerve damage so it’s really tough grinding with stone wheels. Thanks again !!

I am building a shipping container house and need to grind down some metal extruding parts, but find the grinding discs not efficient, so a search led me to this video -- so happy about its effieicncy and bought ten discs on Amazon right away. Will come back to comment about their performance soon. Thanks in advance.

I bought some and used it. The good thing about them is the size of dust is big and does not float in the air. Regular grinding discs cover every corner with black dust.

I never really use grinding discs much anymore I always just use flap wheels for grading and shaping I love the purple 3m cubitron ones

Yah I got their stuff I like it. I got them to use instead of flap discs for Descaling. Flap discs suck so bad. There is no flap disc that can compare. They are worth the price.

I have tried every sort of cutting/grinding disc’s you can get. Everything from local and big box stores to amazon brands. Pferd is the best. It is night and day difference how much better Pferd disc’s are. The only problem is that nobody readily carries them here in the states, so you just have to plan ahead and order accordingly. The performance and durability of Pferd grinding and cutting disc’s are absolutely amazing. It’s not even close.

I had the same revelation when I tried Cubitron discs for the first time. You quickly realize what utter garbage the HF discs are, and how 'stone age' typical discs are. I'll definitely be trying out some of these. Would be cool to see a comparison of these to other structured discs. They still do seem like an awesome value. I mounted a 4 1/2 grinder in a vise (eye-bolt into handle threaded hole, and remote switch), and put a cubitron disc on it. It's the best darn rapid bench grinder I've used yet. Think I'll build a mount for it to free up the vise.

I like the idea of the non-vibration feature. I don't grind as much as I did 25 to 35 years ago but I know what you mean. I can only go so long and the vibration wears me out. I am going to try some of these. I have Pferd 9" regular disks. I like their brand but usually buy the cheap 4-1/2" or 5" disks. I need to look in to this. Thanks for the review.

😊 wish they had a flat twist lock version

Wow... $8? I'll definitely try it for that. Not putting nearly as much heat into workpiece, more productive, AND lasts considerably longer (less downtime for replacement). That's a no-brainer.
