I found out to my cost how dangerous angle grinders are. I was cutting a plastic sewage pipe with a saw blade on the grinder. It kicked back and the blade went down the middle of my index finger also taking off the tip of another finger. Several years ago I was cutting through a brick, the cutting disk grabbed my teeshirt which wrapped around the blade. I was unable to turn it off and it cut a ten inch gash into my stomach. I can not blame the grinder it was my fault for being so stupid. I respect the angle grinder now and follow all safety rules.

It is most important on an instructional video such as this that there is BOTH video and audio so you can explain not only the how-to but also the WHY! This is potentially a very dangerous tool and proper instruction is needed.

So for years I've been loading my cutoff discs backwards? I've never had problem, is there something I'm missing? I just went up on a Norton Abrasives video on how to load a disc, why are they showing the wrong way? Put this in YouTube search and see for yourself - How to mount a cutting disc onto an angle grinder correctly. I honestly just want to know which way is correct and why or does it even matter.

I'm confused. Do you or do you not use the spanner wrench to tighten the cutting wheel? If you're not supposed to use it, then why does the manufacturer provide one with the tool? Common sense tells me to push button to lock angle grinder and use spanner wrench provided to tighten cutting wheel to grinder. Am I wrong?

Thanks. Just a bit confuse about the side. Also protections proper clothes, safety glasses, mask ffp3, face shield, ear plugs and leather gloves... it will not fully protect you but should help... And a lot of respect with that tool, personally I am always scared to use it and choose it as last ressources.

Talk about safety. The first thing we after buying a new grinder is removing the wheel guard. Now can reach further and into thight spaces.
