We have free will. We are mortal and fallible. It’s not God who does it to us, it’s God who gets us through it.

There’s this thing called free will which God also gave us. God does have a plan for each and everyone of us. And it’s the utmost bestest plan than we could ever imagine. If we choose to follow His guidance and His will, we will get to fulfill those plans in our lives and it’d be the best ever for us. We however can choose to NOT follow God and His will, instead we follow our own. That’s why there’s so much misery in the world. There’s contentment and managing through. But nothing like what it’d have been if we follow God’s perfect plans.

I disagree with this. He lets you choose to marry wrong person but He says that He will bring good from things that we chose to destroy us.

I definitely married the wrong person...My Biggest Mistake EVER!!!

I use to think like that years ago. But reading the scriptures and observing my family and friends I realized that it could be both ways. It all depends on how is your heart positioned. That is one of the reasons why people divorce and marry many times.

I married the wrong person. It was definately the worse decision I have ever made. I doubt it was his plan.

That’s beautiful. I agree. God wants us to be the best version of ourselves. Some mariage choices are lessons we need learn and and we should consider this a blessing.

If that was true, divorce wouldn’t exist.

Thank you Rabbi for bringing this thought back to me. Because it has been brewing with me for a while. The relation between our free will and the predetermined nature of our universe is an ambiguous article.

Yes marriages are mostly between past lives enemies so that we learn to forgive and love each other unconditionally, and if we can't learn that it becomes a repeated pattern, so better to learn our lesson and evolve as a soul

We are given free will by God— the person we marry—we ultimately choose with our own free will!

Hmm, in this one you may be stretching it a bit Rebbe.

Thank you for your videos. You have taught me so many things. You have confirmed so many convictions that I have. Every video I watch is growing me as a person and in my faith.

This one blew my mind! I knew that some things are out of out free will, such as wealth, your couple and how many kids you're gonna have. But I never thought of its implications

I believe that in our choice to marry, we must honor God by living according to his commands. Both parties must put their best foot foward. If we don't, then divorce is inevitable. We will reap what we have sown.

Even as a Muslim I even asked this question In my head earlier on today. Now I see a rabbi contemplating the same question. Allah hu akbar.
