I did that same procedure on a hood that had a lot of stone scratches.I know it's a little laborious but bro the result will leave you speechless.

Great work but you could’ve contained your sanding to a much smaller area. Lowered the amount of clear coat in a 1X1 section when all that needed attention was the scratch

Do you use touch up that corresponds to the cars paint code? Or will a neutral black usually work on a black car? Trying to figure out how I can incorporate scratch removal into my paint correction business, the proffesional way.

That only works on black, red and white. Any pearls or metallics in paint and this would look awful.

there’s no need to use a heat gun unless you want to speed up the drying process ☀️ otherwise do thin coats and wait 30 mins between each one. he’s using a wet sandpaper so he had to spray with water first 💦 also, there are other ways to blend without increasing the size of the sanding area. you could also use a blender suitable for the type of paint you use, eg acetone, you could just use ipa 🤭 or just go for it without blending and cutting/polishing will do a good enough job 😄

You worked in very large area and removed a lot of clear coat. I'll look mat in a couple of weeks. You should spray clear coat then Sand an polish again.

Whenever I try this I and up sanding of all the touchup paint and go through the original paint witch means I have to re-spray the entire panel 😢
