FYI, it doesn't work all the time. It all depends on the depth of the scratches. Pay attention to the thickness of the clearcoat or lacquer. Some manufacturers have thin clearcoat and some have thicker ones.

To ppl who got this over their head, the method shown in video only meant to be diy solution for people who don’t have spraying environment and want to keep the expense low but still get decent result. It’s not supposed to be perfect, you will still see it if you look closely.

I've done this but it's almost impossible to paint match due to fade and layer depth. But it can look 95% and looks better at distance, of course.

To all the experienced techs. I know he only applied base color but can you spray Clear coat on it to keep the paint from fading away or the only way to fix it is a total re-finish job?

So you don't have to cut those scratches with a wool pad & a rotary? You can just go straight to polishing? No compound at all?

Clear coat absence means this will become foggy in future, polished paint doesn't maintain polish effect

The video is cut off as soon as the polishing operation is finished.
But if you stop the video at that moment, you can see how the scratches are still there.
I'm sorry, but this operation, in addition to permanently removing the layer of clear paint, does not permanently remove the scratches.
Do yourself a favor and go to a professional body shop and have your car repainted instead of doing it yourself.
