Punjab Eases Property Registration: No NOC Required
Показать описание
Chandigarh: The Punjab Assembly on Thursday passed the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2024, eliminating the need for a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the registration of plots up to 500 square yards in unauthorised colonies across the state.
During the discussion on the bill, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa exchanged sharp remarks. The amendment aims to simplify property registration for owners who have signed a sale agreement or conducted property transactions legally up until July 31, 2024. Under the new provisions, property owners will no longer need to obtain an NOC, a requirement that was previously mandatory.
This move is expected to benefit a large number of residents who own property in unauthorised colonies, streamlining the registration process and providing relief to those seeking legal ownership of their plots.
