To argue semantics, the Brazilian Wandering spider is the "Deadliest" spider because it kills the highest number of people. The Sydney Funnel Web has the most potent venom, however (particularly the male).

As an Australian, I've literally only seen one of these spiders in my life. You'll run into a lot more redbacks than these things. But if you do see one or even worse, get bitten by one, there's anti-venom for them now and there hasn't been a death in decades.
