“We need more ammunition. Let’s go to the supermarket.” Is a very American thing to say.

I think people would be more of a threat than zombies. At least with zombies it’s a singular goal but with people you don’t know what could be going on in their heads.

Going at the very top of a building in a zombie apocalypse is actually a bad idea since your only escape logically is blocked, so basically you just trapped yourself so I suggest you find a near the ground level building or in a building with just a little bit of height so that you can have a overview and also barracade some exits but not all of them just the obvious ones where some people and zombies would probably wander around in, so that you have a emergency escape exit and well-built safehouse

Pro tip: heading for the hills is a good idea, but before going take a look outside (through a window). If there is a panicking crowd/people boarding there houses, it is a good idea to cautiously head for the hills. But if a bunch of people have hiking gear, it is not a good idea. Also check the news, if the government is telling people to go to the hills, stay.

This is because if everyone has the same idea, the hills will be packed, humans will be humans and fight over resources, and zombies are gonna follow that big crowd of food.

The most dangerous factor in a zombie apocalypse (or any apocalypse) is fear. Fighting the zombies is pretty straightforward. Dealing with the collapsed goods and services and learning how to survive by your own means is the real challenge.

I feel like this guide would be a lot more helpful if it didn’t treat the zombie apocalypse as an instantaneous “chaos on the streets on day one” event. There *has* to be some kind of buildup, how hospitals will be overwhelmed with bite victims, police will be more active, the news will mistake it for a normal flu infection, etc…

One thing people don't think of is adding a date to your emergency marker.

If you just put SOS, or HELP, something like that, how do they know you're not already toast? You could have gotten killed weeks ago.

You lay out SOS 7/14/23, they know you're still up as of that date. Not just for zombies, but natural disasters. People will be much more willing to make the effort if they know you updated your sign today.

Honestly, I really like the “realistic” zombie apocalypse scenarios - but the funny thing is that humans are genuinely quite good at staying alive 😂 the more realistic the zombie invasion is, the less scary it gets; we’re a resourceful lot, and dear god is our species good at killing things. We forget it a lot in the modern day, but get a load of guys together and get them decently armed, and they’re a decent match for quite a lot 😂

Pretty sure I'd like to go solo, the largest weak link is trusting a person who isn't mentally prepared or unstable leaving you or your safe zone vulnerable. Maybe you can maintain a small group of less than 5, much more and its too many variables

You know, this sort of scenario always takes place in the U.S. I'd like to see versions of other countries as well, especially where freezing the zombies isn't an option.

I believe iceland is the safest place for a zombie apocalypse.
1. It’s the furthest from all land, meaning it cant be seen from any other land. Zombies wouldn’t know that it exists.
2. Even if the zombies did find out about iceland, it’s pretty likely that they cant swim so you’re still safe.

A zombie apocalypse is the one extinction event that we should easily overcome.. a language/culture barrier isn't in the way of knowing you can't eat without a head.

Everyone's happy & excited about a zombie apocalypse till someone from their own family turns into one.

As someone who lives in a tropical country side near a mountain, I think my odds of surviving a zombie apocalypse is higher. I can just go up on the mountain together with my relatives and build a small community there. We can grow crops in order to be self-sufficient. The mountain itself and vegetation will serve as a natural barrier against the zombies. Random stragglers that was able to wander on the mountains by chance be easily dealt with. Being on a densely populated city is a nightmare for this kind of apocalypse.

This reminds me of one of the stories from the book World War Z where some people in Canada had the same idea to go as far north as possible and stake out the apocalypse there for a year. But there story went south because they abused all there resources and they starved and froze themselves to death. So resource management should be a big priority if you go north.

There was a major point missed. That is, raiding pharmacies for essential drugs like antibiotics and painkillers. Also some surgical equipment.

The rate of decay would be greatly increased by movement. Therefore causing the walking corpses to break down much faster (especially if they're the kind of living dead that run) than if they were just lying still like corpses are supposed to do. Most of them would be decayed beyond mobility within a month.

I really enjoyed this video, and i imagine most people who enjoyed this video want to know how a more "down to earth" zombie experience would be, theres this survival game called "project zomboid" which, instead of its peers, actually shows how a regular citizen would "survive" in a zombie apocalipse, its brutally hard (every run starts with "this is how you died") but its the most accurate out of them all, for example, for most players using guns is rather worthless, due to them attracting way more zombies than you can fend off, its truly a very accurate experience to what would happen in real life.

Lol, loved the comment, "You're smart, after all you're an Infographics fan. " made beer come out my nose. 🤣
