Great list. :) It's not really on nutrition, but "Fast Food Nation" made me think about food a lot and how we use it in society. It is also made me more aware of what I eat and I started eating less processed foods once I read t.

Hi Heather. Here's a short list (a little off topic, but good "food" for thought) that address 3 major domains; Micro Nutrition/Health, SocioPolitical Agriculture, And Philosophical/Spiritual Nutrition

Eat to Live, Dr. Joel Fuhrman
The Omnivore's Dilemma, Michal Pollan
Way of The Peaceful Warrior, Dan Millman

Peace to you and yours.

Well, I just completed a book called "Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life" by Brendan Brazier. It was actually pretty enlightening. It also included a section with recipes.

Another book I recently bought is "Simply Vegan: Quick Vegetarian Meals" by Debra Wasserman. It not only has recipes but also contains a section on nutrition and has lots of helpful information. Thanks for sharing your three recommendations.

I started out with a suggested book "skinny bitch" and this book was a GREAT wake up call for people who need a little slap in the face to realize what we need to pay attention to what we are eating, where our food is coming from.It was a great book to start with, however it was written awhile ago and I am not an advocate for soy products. Then I read Alicia Silverstones book "The Kind Diet" and I absolutely loved this book and her recipes. I want to continue to learn, so I think my next book will be Eating Alive, I think learning about my digestive system as I age is very important. So thank you for that suggestion.
