I'm a newer subscriber who found your channel when I needed to replace my brakes and rotors on my 2014 Civic Si. I even went out and bought new tools so I could be more self reliant doing maintenance as a delivery driver because of you (torque wrench, breaker bar, wire brush, various lubricants, etc). I've seen a lot of your more recent videos (LOVED the Prius battery video since I got that to be my work vehicle - 2012 Prius THREE) with the higher production quality and I gotta say you've definitely come a long way in how you create these videos. The level of instructional detail, the confidence, filming/editing, etc. You have mastered your craft, and I'm so happy for you. And even with this being a 7 year old video, I still feel like I got enough information that I could do this job myself if I ever needed to replace my alternator. Keep up the good work, and thank you for being an incredible teacher.

I have been watching your videos for a while now but have never had a socket set or wrench set. I just turned 17 today and saved up money to buy a car (BMW e39) but still don't have tools, hopefully by Christmas I get some. just wanted to thank you chris, I have learned lots from you and hope to learn more.

Thank you for working on a dirty real world engine like we all have. I thought it was a mechanics only pervue and paid a garage 600 to replace mine. Man oh man now I feel I can replace it on my own. Thank God for your vids I feel I can follow along using an old tablet like you being there.

Good video. Long but you covered all the bases, and did NOT waste time like many other vids. Looks like I'm gonna have to do this, car not charging a brand new battery. Also gonna check on just having the alternator rebuilt. One comment. Seems like if I've released the belt, it would be a good idea just to replace it while I'm right there. thanks again.

Hi Chris!

I've been learning about car maintenance through your channel. Your videos are very informative. Thanks for that.

i've been driving manual cars for 15years and this is my first time to own an automatic. Last week i had a dead battery. Got stranded for hours.
Now, i wanted to install a second battery in my car. Maybe to power my laptop and for audio players. I just hope it works like parallel connections, but i think it's much complex than that.

And if maybe you could guide me on this... another youtube vid would be great.

Thanks in advance.
More power.
