I have watched 5 videos regarding this alternator replacement, and while each of them had merit - this one is the best! Thank you for taking the time to clearly record what you were doing while also giving clear, concise instruction.

Thank you to people like you! Outstanding job on the video. Very clear and to the point. Was quoted about $800 at the dealer and elsewhere. If it helps others, I also removed the lower fan shroud by taking off the 2 metal clips to make even more room for getting the alternator out of the engine compartment. Also, I'm very partial to Denso parts for Toyotas, but for this one I bought a Napa alternator with lifetime warranty. Thank you again!

A couple corrections / clarifications to your process:
00:45 Use the same method to loosen the top power steering bolt as to remove the bottom bolts. Go through a window in the pulley with a socket wrench to loosen the top nut. My power steering pump bolts and nut were extremely tight and required the use of a breaker bar to loosen.
01:50 My 2004 Tundra actually had two nuts and a bolt that need to be removed to loosen the alternator. One nut and the bolt required a 14mm socket, and the other nut required a 12mm socket.

Hardest part was putting the serpentine belt back on. This was the best video amongst many. Short with simple, easy to understand instructions.. thanks

This video is great! I used this video to replace my alternator on my 2007 Sequoia.

One thing I would add to the process is that during the install of the new alternator, I removed the lower half of the plastic Radiator Fan Guard housing, (It will be 1/2 a circle when it comes out along with the two joining clips) and that gave me much needed space to get the new alternator into the space and also to torque down the various bolts/nuts to the 29 ft. lbs. as specified. I was able to remove the old alternator without taking this fan guard off, but in retrospect I would recommend taking it off at the beginning of the entire job, it really allowed for better access with the wrenches/sockets that I was working with. Great Video and thank you for sharing this repair process.

This is by far the BEST video I've found on YouTube showing this procedure. THANKS!

EDIT, I have since done the job on a 2001 Sequoia and it was one of the easier jobs I've undertaken at home, maybe an hour and a half tops. A point to share: My 2001 Sequoia did not require loosening and moving of the water pump, it was a straight swap in and out on the alternator. Excellent video, well done and thank you!

Great video and instructions! I followed your guidance and replaced my 2006 Sequoia alternator in 2hrs. Toyota quoted me $1, 025 to do the job...Amazon part cost me $146.13. Thank you!

Wow, you explained the video very well, and I kept on pausing the video to see the brand of the 🔧 wrenches but at the end you said the brand. That is NEW. Great Job on the video bud

Great to the point video. Didn’t have to listen to a lot of fluff like on other videos. You did a great job explaining the job.

Thanks for a concise and intelligent how-to. Only video worth watching on this particular service job. Have a 2uz-fe 4Runner and the positive lead of the alternator harness corroded entirely away from road salt. Thank you Canadian winters. 😒 After repairing the wiring harness I discovered that the alternator casing had fractured, caused by corrosive expansion of the steel case bolts that built it together. Definitely time to replace it. Getting my hands on a remanufactured Denso was five to ten times the cost of the one I ordered it out of the USA so I waited for the delivery to arrive. Thank you covid - 19.☹️ But it's here now and I'm tackling this in the morning. Thought I'd look to see if I could find a decent video on the task and I did! Amazing.
Really do appreciate your video on this job. Saved me a lot of grief on how to efficiently accomplish this job. Cheers.

Thank you for sharing the video. This video gave me more confidence to tackle the alternator on a 2004 4Runner 4.7 V8. I did have to take off the steering pump pulley and remove the sway bar, but otherwise it was not as bad as I thought. Without your video I may have paid someone to do it.
