IF YOUR FARM ISN'T WORKING,
make sure to check out part 2:

and...
BUFF is a rewards app by Overwolf (which has trusted apps like CurseForge for Minecraft),
and it is a way to get free stuff for doing essentially nothing.
It says it doesn't affect your computer's performance, and through my testing, I could see that was no performance dip while I was recording or playing!

PIN THIS IF POSSIBLE: On bedrock light goes through slabs so the floor and the ceiling of the spawing room have to be solid blocks.

Thanks this works well!
One criticism tho: tell people that they will need water and torches, because it can be a pain to go back to a base to get some

Another addition to this farm: if you build a 'ring' platform around the main drop area, and then put slabs on the sides of the drop tower (at mob head height) the skeltons that drop will kill the creepers and you can farm disks :) You just need to make sure they don't damage you too much, or bring a shield

Good farm, works well, only a couple of things I would suggest. Make the fall distance two blocks shorter, as some mobs are falling and still dying at your suggested height, due to them jumping slightly at the edge of the water. As well as this, rather than filling the corners of the roof with torches, just make it all slabs. Since mobs can't spawn on them. Otherwise, great farm. The chunk limiting works really well. I also found putting torches on the ground works so that the shade that the farm provides stops mobs from spawning really low down.

I personally have trouble building xp farms this type, but this video was very clear and it started working instantly.

Thank you for this mob xp farm!! ❤
I tried it on bedrock and it worked good!

Note: I tried it first by building 22-block pillers but zombies were dying immediately when falling down, so as a solution build 21-block pillers instead.

this is the most classic design. I thought it doesn't work anymore but surprisingly it does. I'ma build this again in my new world after not building it since 2014 lol

Great tutorial! Little speedy so I had to pause and re-watch a lot, but much appreciated. Works like a charm!

LMFAO DUDE THE FACT THAT TURNING UR RENDER DISTANCE DOWN HELPS IS SO FUNNY LIKE I TURNED IT DOWN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MOBS STARTED POURING DOWN

if the build needs water buckets, put water buckets in the required materials at the start. Other than that it was a helpful tutorial that made sense and the time lapses weren't too fast which is common and very annoying.

I built mine while i was playing in a server with my friend, and at first it didn't work, but after he left and I was the only one in the world it started to work really well. hope this helps!

DISCLAMER FOR BEDROCK PLAYERS: Replace both the 7x7 slabs and roof slabs for the best farm efficiency. Then for the roof, use half bottom slabs on top of the blocks or light them up to prevent spawning on the top of the roof. As soon as I replaced the roof and 7x7 spawning areas with full blocks the results were as the comments stated, "instantly". Very nice tutorial just wanted to save some time for bedrock users as slabs emit light through them. This will make your farm faster and able to work during the day.
