In August of 2010, a strange piece of footage from Japan's Sagami Bay was recorded which depicts an unidentified subject. Is this a stationary inanimate object, a dead creature, or something entirely different?

Hm, doesnt seem to be an alive organism at the very least. What is confusing is that there isnt the usual scavenger frenzy at the body. And the eyes bulge out, which doesnt really seem realistic. I think its just a rock with some clam like animals stuck to it that looks like a face lol

Honestly, looks like a basalt boulder with two organisms living above a crack on its surface. Pareidolia.

I’m glad to see the pet rock I rescued in 2010 is doing well in the wild. It brings tears to my eyes knowing they’re living free and happy.

This reminds me of "faces" I would occasionally see in the forest off in the distance as a kid. After gathering the courage to approach it, I was always relieved to discover that the "face" was the result of trick of lighting in combination with a random arrangement of physical structures of a tree or rock with symmetrical features, eg. two clumps of mold growing on opposite sides that resemble eyes from a distance that appear to resemble a face to the human eye. I believe this footage demonstrates the same. Its a rock with features in the front that look like a "mouth" due to lighting and structure, meanwhile two white clumps, possibly deep sea corals or other sedentary animals just happened to form in a way that reminds us of eyes on a large animal.

Reminded me of a ningen! I've been fascinated with them for years, particularly because they're scary and shrouded in mystery. Experts usually explain them away as being anomalies of other sorts, but how do we really know what's under there at depths that are hard to capture?

Rock or no rock, I love mysteries like this. It's too bad the footage of it is so limited and they didn't capture it from any other angles.

It's _Nopadoptera Notachancium_ more commonly known as a Schittmipants

I thought "Muk" and "Grimer" were poison pokemon, not water!

I love unknowns because its usually not the typical "10 UNIDENTIFIABLE CREATURES THAT YOU HAVE TO SEE TO BELIEVE!!! NUMBER 7 WILL SHOCK YOU!!!" and its genuinely something mysterious. That combined with the channel's ability to have unnerving videos of known stuff makes these videos incredible.

Personally I think it is just a mound of stuff with two things (sponges?) that happen to make it look like a life form that has eyes. Doesn't ruin the mystery feel to me though.

Your outros never fail to creep me the heck out. It must be the atmospheric music, I love it.

unlike many horror games and cryptids, this thing sends chills down a persons spine. Why? because its REAL. The fact that this thing exists in our ocean is already scary . But when something is unknown, it makes it 10 times more scary. It might be a rock, or it might be alive. Its surelt not dead since nothing is surrounding it, not even shrimp

It just looks like a rock formation with coincidental "eye" placement, maybe some coral or random sea creatures.

This is probably a FAR stretch, but that looks like a giant frog statue covered in sentiment overtime. It's standing a bit too still to be alive, but also, there would be much more creatures surrounding it, if it were a carcass. My guess is this statue of a frog sunk hundreds of years ago. The shape and curvature suggests a frog-like creature, but also, considering the location, Japan is well-known for their frog statues all of which have extremely round eyes (as you can see in the video).

In my opinion, unnamed creature is what we call “a rock” it’s difficult to determine which type of rock it is because it has algae covering it but it is a rock with a slight overhang that causes a shadow that looks like a mouth.

The “eyes” could be bits of the rock that don’t have algae growth or they could be inclusions in a piece of igneous rock. They could even be small crustaceans that are resting on the rock. The camera was just at the right angle to make the arrangement of shadows and other features look like a face.

If Japan wouldn't play that creepy music while recording, things like this wouldn't happen.
