Trapped Inside This Tornado

On April 4th, 2023 my friends and I were impacted by some damaging inflow winds ahead of the Lewistown, IL EF3 that brought down the powerlines and trapped us in the path of the tornado. Where we then took a direct hit.

We're thankful to have survived.

Forget the tornado, those powerlines were the real menace. I can't believe he got out of his car next to those wires to check on the damage. That's a wild stress response

Seeing the car after, makes it very clear just how much danger you guys were in. Wow. I’m glad you all were okay!

Watching those powerlines fall on top of you is just gut-wrenching. I'm so glad you guys made it out okay.

I’ve watched tornado vids for over 10 years, and this is the most RAW and UNFILTERED footage I’ve ever seen of a tornado. The guy screaming “please!” Over and over is actually petrifying.

It's so rare to have so many camera angles of HD footage capturing such a raw and chaotic event. If nothing else you've documented something that of the world will never see in a way that has never been done before and may not be done again. Grats on living

Hands down the MOST INTENSE caught in a tornado video on YouTube. Glad you guys are okay.

This is 100% better than any twister remake movie.

In my 20 plus years in the fire service I’ve did and seen A LOT of crazy & scary stuff, but nothing like this. When I saw those poles falling and the wires arcing, my heart sank because you guys had no way out and those were HIGH energy lines. I’m so glad that you guys made it out. Yes, the car, and other things are replaceable material, your lives aren’t.

Grateful to you guys for having the courage to post this video. It shows that someone can have radars and maps and knowledge and still make a huge, fatal mistake. So glad you all survived. Definitely a teachable moment to anyone who thinks they'll be just fine jumping in the car to track a tornado. It's just too easy to...mess up. Thanks.

I've been watching tornado/severe weather related content on YouTube for over 10 years now, and this video is hands down the most terrifying one.

Chasing tornadoes is not a joke. Even those who have more experience have been killed before. They are very lucky to be alive.

Riley(?) was apologizing so much at the end but my god, the way he avoided those power lines and poles AND the sparking electricity, and then managed to find a spot that ended up protecting them... This dude did an incredible job! His quick thinking saved their lives if you ask me.

On Palm Sunday in 1994 my family was trapped in a tornado/hail storm in our car on our way back from visiting family. This was really emotional to watch because we weren’t sure we were going to make it—I was 9 and my brother was 12. We stuffed pillows in the dashboard and held hands and prayed so we would be holding hands to Heaven. It all seems silly to someone to hear that story until you watch a video like this and it puts those emotions into perspective. Thank you God for keeping you all safe.

This actually truly IS some of THE best tornado footage ever seen...being almost directly underneath that curved vortice - without a bunch of rain, darkness or debris obstructing the detail was amazing - thanks for posting this !

Hi guys, sorry for my English, I'm French. I'm a fan of tornado and I discovered the channel a few hours ago. Never has a video made me feel so much emotion. Thank God you are alive, continue what you are doing, but stay careful.

When that dude said “oh no” that sent chills down my spine. Glad everyone was ok, physically at least.
