As intense wind and rain whipped around a Texas couple during a tornado, they did not know whether to stay inside their RV or seek shelter outside the vehicle. Finally, they decide it’s too dangerous to be inside their vehicle. Ally Chapman took their two dogs and jumped into a watery ditch. Chapman later shared an update a day after the harrowing ordeal. The RV park they were in suffered severe damage.

Old girl just jumped right in without hesitation; she went in like a day at the lake!! You could see the terror and confusion in the dog's faces but they understood the assignment real quick!!

I’m impressed that someone actually took the tornado advice often given to jump into a ditch and then…they jumped into a ditch

I love how the couple was just as worried for the dogs safety as well their own safety. I would of done the same thing as them. I couldn't leave my pets behind.

I thank God that they're okay.
My baby sister texted me from Deer Park 10 minutes after the tornado hit them. She described the houses as being in the middle of the street. She sent pictures of the buildings that were to the ground. And I'm so glad that there was no loss of life.

Being someone who’s been studying severe weather for years now, these people did exactly what you’re supposed to do in their situation. Props to them!

When my husband was in Army Training in Texas, they were outside when a tornado formed. They were instructed to hit a ditch and it passed right over them. I looked it up since he is deceased now. Paris, Texas had a tornado that year (F4) and Camp Maxie Training Site is just outside Paris. I am glad he survived. We met and married the next year.

I learned this 30 years ago when I was 15. We had to pull over on the highway and jump in a ditch. Absolutely terrifying but I’m still here.

Smart people. That takes some bravery to leave your dry RV to go in a wet ditch while a tornado is approaching and hope you made the right call. And so impressed they took their dogs.

Really great how they took the right approach. Unfortunately, many people don't do the same.

One of my worst nightmares come true. So glad they're OK! And what great furbaby parents for not leaving them behind.

Made me so happy to see the dogs weren’t just tossed outside and left to find their own shelter! So glad they all made it through safely. I could never live in an area with tornadoes. Absolutely terrifying

I’m glad they saved their pups too.... I always see a lot of people just leave their dogs outside and let them fend for themselves in a Tornado. I live in Kansas and as you can guess, I’ve been in plenty of them. It’s a sad sight to see. Glad they’re all ok 💗
