A boxer whose gender identity has recently been questioned won her first fight at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. Imane Khelif of Algeria defeated Angela Carini of Italy after Carini quit 46 seconds into the match. Carini stopped the fight after only a few punches were exchanged, avoided shaking Khelif’s hand and then fell to the floor in tears.

I comment as a boxer, and boxing trainer: the way the italian boxer gives up is not really dignified. Its not even a knockdown. Imane has been competing, and lost, in womens boxing for years. This guy talking irritates the crap out of me. Theres nothing wrong with sex testing. All we have to do is create more categories. So then intersex women and men and trans women and men could be able to play and it be fair. Trans men could finally play sports too.
