Male XY chromosomes determine stature, muscle mass, testosterone levels and punch power not female assigned genitalia. Intersex / DSD babies often have ambiguous genitalia and are frequently (surgically) assigned female at birth. Whatever the specific circumstances for this athlete there needs to be clear rules, and tests to ensure all athletes competing as woman are equally protected & safe in all sporting events, not just the Olympics.
