From manor house station to badge in hand, 3 years 1 month and 17 days. Went 3 all on 28s and 21s. Did it the wizzan way and took a chance and did map test with 1000 points. Thought sod it let's just get into the system. It's a game you gotta play. Try and enjoy it, and dont ever stop calling a book a day. Good luck all

I i’m always surprised to discover that there is no retesting at all – all one has to do is to keep up payments for the ticket. So, you could actually be off the road for, say 10 years, go back and things have changed so much that would be very lost.

Best thing is to not put a date on it. However one can't be on it forever either, one has to be realistic when enough is enough. Went 3-3 2nd time round, both on 56s and 21s. I swore to myself that on both occasions if I got sent back that would be my lot. Fortunately both times in this situation I scored to progress, so maybe it was meant to be. Being in that situation on 21s, the pressure was absolutely insane. Was feeling right sorry for myself, that the rest of my life could be shaped in just 20 minutes forever.

Hi Tom love all your videos. Married with 2 kids and will have to do knowledge in a car due to distance. Thinking of doing 12-16 runs a week in the car, 5am start then once Ive done them all was thinking of getting a job with Addison Lee so I can continue pointing early morning then working rest of the day. Hopefully can learn a bit whilst driving for AL, what are your thoughts? All the best mate

Average was 5 years 😢 20 years ago . No Google maps, street view ect, all done with a the old a-z lol. 570 runs . Do the runs then points later . You will go over the same roads so many times that you will end up remembering the big points . Then put points into areas and do them, x good luck see you out there

Another excellent presentation, Tom. Concerning the time taken to do the Knowledge some students must have more natural ability to encode and retrieve this sort of information and therefore do the run learning more rapidly and score more often at appearances. All else being equal they are more likely to pass within a timespan before which they feel they have to give up. Do you think that there is a wide range of ability and if so is there any way of assessing relatively early on whether a student has the necessary ability to pass within a reasonable time frame (apart from the voluntary test)? It seems a reasonable question because the drop out rate is so high.

Very good video from thing that will kill it for many candidates, is finances, family commitments, work commitments, age and stamina you haven't got a bucket load of your own personal time and money to throw at this, then you're gonna be on one leg with your arm tied behind your back before you've even found Manor House station.
With utmost respect to Tom, he is a relatively young man and might not yet be anchored down with a lot of the above, if he is then all credit to you Tom, however the older you get the harder it will be both physically and if that doesn't put you Good Luck . :)

Learning something as hard as this by memory seems abit old fashond now tho, that we have better technology that we dont need to kno everything by memory now.
